workshop track

Rrrrrrrright, well, finally getting round to finishing the track we started at the YB workshop last nov. I switched to presonus studio 1 and ditched cubase, picked up some more gear (benji turned me on to some cool gear) and started arranging/mixing to see what would come out. Who else feels they prejudged Vaccine??

Hi all!

After many comprehensive listens to Vaccine, I have to hold my hands up and say sorry for doubting YB’s new direction.
This album is amazing on so many levels. I take back the negative remarks I made about vocals. About a week or so ago I had an awesome experience listening to this album and now I hear it a new way.
The fine details, the composition, the production and also the vocals is just absolutely sublime. It has a psychedelic quality that is almost new to me. Something I haven’t experienced for quite a while which makes it almost new.
I’ve unfortunately listened to pop music to see if this album runs along the same lines. Thankfully, no it doesn’t. It doesn’t even sound like Coldplay to me. To those who think it does please explain and share why you think it does. What tracks of Coldplay does it sound like??
For those who believe YB have lost their early style, I agree but this album is such a progression in so many ways. I believe alot of us got caught up with how the vocals played a big part in the making of this album that we missed the bigger picture of it.

I for one was sceptical at first but every thing fits together so perfectly in this masterpiece. Take away the vocals/lyrics and you are left with awesome music however there would be a void. Everything has it’s place.

Lyrics have worked in music for so many great bands. I see it working so well for YB.

Benji, Ru, Simon and the rest of YB band. I congratulate you all on creating such a fantastic, wonderful and truly beautiful album.

Sorry for my intial doubts.

protocols

So here’s the thing, been listening to evil and harm, and suddenly remembered that I’d heard a YB track which had the protocols of the elders of zion (or some similar sounding text)quoted and sampled over it.

Now I thought the track I remembered with the quotes was ‘evil and harm’... listening to the album version plainly I’m wrong.

Is there a YB track out there with these quotes or is this just the product of my own fevered imagination?

Will we ever hear Younger Brother back to basic, or is Vaccine the new path?
I don’t think the Vaccine album sound like Younger Brother at all. For me it’s catastrophic if Younger Brother turns in to Coldplay for ever.
Last Days of Gravity and A Flock of Bleeps means VERY much to me, but Vaccine is not for me at all.

It’s a real tragedy if the real Younger Brother is lost for ever.

Yikes! The man in the window & ,,,,

...the snake in the tree! I was relaxing to the whole album ~Vaccine~ and enjoying looking at details of the CD cover. when I almost fell off the chair when I suddenly saw a faint gray shadow of a face with a big nose looking out the window behind the tree (inside cover). Seeing faces in the flowers themselves seemed normal to me; at least for artwork by Storm, but that face and it’s expression really freaked me out.

Did anyone else get the goosebumps?

I was really touched by the lyrics in Vaccine. I was wondering - were they all written by Ru? Also - is there’s a place the “formal” lyrics are available, I see different places where people are trying to guess the lyrics, not always successfully…
