In years to come I think people will look back as Shpongle being one of the most amazing psychedelic projects ever so I just want to sit back and enjoy the Shpongle ride.

I, too, cannot wait for whatever delicious creation Si and Raj whip up for us.  Whether it’s a return to their more trippy and ambient days or they’re going to continue with their more energetic sound, all we can be sure of is that it’ll have that Posford stamp of quality.  I am going to make every effort to not develop expectation in order to maximize my enjoyment.  I developed expectations about the new Amon Tobin disc and, consequently, it took many listens before I began to appreciate it in its own right.

And it beats the hell out of a random bonus disc, which probably would have featured such unreleased cuts as “Hello, You’ve Reaced the Posford Residence, We Can’t Come to the Phone Right Now…”.

I understand…but a full album is quite different than a single track collaboration.
I think it needs much more effort and time and chemistry etc to create a full album project that’s why i mentioned Shpongle & Younger Brother only.

But Metal Sharon was supposed to be a full album too; they’ve got more than one track under their belt, it’s just they havn’t been released yet.

Your comments about effort, time, and chemistry are correct though, and thats exactly why I’m worried about Shpongle 4. The first three albums had at least three years between each of them, and it was as if each of the albums was ‘meant’ to be…

Meanwhile, Younger Brother isn’t going to be released until the middle of the year and the Twisted crew are predicting Shpongle 4 to be finished by the end of the year! And the only reason it’s being made is because “Simon and Raja have a bunch of spare time due to the live show cancellation”

It just doesn’t sound as poetic as it should be, I mean are their hearts really in it this time?

I believe, that with the advent of acid… wrong line, ok again, I believe ...that you meant to say (or that Twisted crew) believes, or at least I do, more like Shpongle to be done next year sometime, maybe end of next year? Although it’s very possible, I think they got enough of other stuff to do, could be wrong though.

I liked them the most in the opposite order! Are You and Nothing is… are maybe the same good IMO.
