25th of May 2007 - Twisted Records Label Party

Opening times will be 9pm to 6am

This being the 3rd in a series of Twisted parties, this will most likely be our last label party for a good while as we will have done three in quite quick succession and we don’t want to start repeating ourselves.  We don’t do these parties just for the sake of it, we do them because we have something cool and new that we want to show you! 

This party is for the Younger Brother Album Launch and also to preview new material from Ott and Hallucinogen in Dub.  We are aiming to add a ‘Celtic’ twist to the Hallucinogen in DUB set.. stand by for more details.

The main problems with the other parties were due to overcrowding during the main acts.  So the sensible solution is to get one enormous room and fill it with the best acts we can!  With a main room capacity of around 3500 we shouldn’t be having any problems.  Brixton Academy has a huge main dance floor and also a very large seated gallery area so there is still the option to chill out for those who liked that idea!

We are going to do something special… an electro-accoustic bombshell of an occasion pushing back new boundaries in what you have come to expect from Twisted LIVE performances!

Well, extremely disappointed about the lack of live Shpongle of course…hopes, dashed, yadda…but I think I’ll still travel down for this if I can. HID is always a winner - seen the trio play twice now and both were fantastic stomps, and the rest of the live line-up looks great, especially Celtic Cross (WOOHOO!) Eat Static and Prometheus (I’ll wet me knickers if he drops Nerve Centre, such a brilliant, brilliant track it is…yes, that was my rather uncouth way of saying pretty please MmmK?) And I’m always up for new Ott stuff, when he eventually gets round to it. *ahem*

Ok you may have broken a piece of my heart but you’ve twisted my arm. (No pun intended.) Good luck gentlemen. Hope to hear you all there. XX

Wicked news! Really looking forward to seeing Hallucinogen in Dub!

Unfortunately I live in the U.S. and wont be able to make it to this awesome show anyway, but as a suggestion to which artist should fill the show I strongly suggest Sporque. Sporque’s set at Symbiosis ‘06 was amazing! You guys would really enjoy it. OR… if you REALLY want to get your socks knocked off: Deru (Benjamin Wynn) is fucking incredible and will throw you into the sickest trance ever!

I was at Brixton Academy on Thursday night to see Massive Attack. It was a great gig but when the Massive Attack were on it was rammed in there (of course) - no real space to dance, just space to gently jiggle from side to side. Not great….
So, oh Twisted peeps, what’s your feelings on capacity for this event? I remember you tried to keep the numbers down at the last party in Vauxhall although your efforts were thwarted by the terrible security. Brixton Academy seems to have very good security and are used to dealing with big crowds so that shouldn’t happen in this case. Will you be keeping the numbers down to give us all a bit more room to get properly twisted?

Aside from that, just can’t wait for the night. Seeing Hallucinogen in Dub will be awesome and Shpongle, Younger Brother, Prometheus are always rocking…. Bring on the tickets sales!
