Tickets here train tickets bought..  can’t wait!

So, there’s 2 and half hours between Twisted finishing and Daytrippers starting.  Who is going to both and what are your plans for in between?

Well…it’s on. I’m not there and wish to High Shpongolia I was there. I have to amuse myself with my favorite Hallucinogen live clips which the internet is gratefully abundant with these days.

Being a long time fan of anything coming my way from the twisted sphere, I just want to wish all you twisters good luck with the event tonight. I also want to give everyone involved a massive pad on the back (figuratively speaking…. /pad…)for all the hard work leading up to this groundbreaking event, which I have no doubt, will pay off and go down in the twisted annals for all eternity.

Younger Brother with a live band is a bold step in a new direction and judging from the snippets I’ve picked up so far on youtube and myspace, it is totally gonna deliver. In other words, I LOVE it and have been bashing myself on the head all day long for a fortnight because I am not there.

I hope this is to be the first step into the big league music-wise, i.e. a larger audience, commercial recognition (but not VIVA or MTV - you guys are just too good for that lot) and a place among the greatest in music history, along all the bands that were the inspiration for the project. And those who like it, and have never bothered with Hallucinogen, Prometheus or Shpongle before will start looking for that stuff after being blown away by this new sound.

Lead them, kicking and screaming, giggling and laughing into the future

.... yes but what happened to shpongle?
The best track of the set was Jam and Spoons ‘Follow Me’
Everyone went mad!!

I loved Ott, Hallucinogen In Dub and then Younger Brother was completely mind blowing. Somehow think that Prometheus should give up DJ ing and Trance and concentrate on the stuff he likes and is good at…. and KoxBox…well if you enjoy boring, repetive music they are for you. Eat Static came on with some great music but by then….....

Perhaps you were just too tired and cranky by then…
I am thankful that what you think about Prometheus and KoxBox will surely have little effect on what they continue to do musically or be inspired by…
A shame that three sound systems of music and a phenomenal collection of musical talent is not enough for you.

WOW. What an amazing party. My highlight was definately seeing Hallucinogen in Dub. Truly mindblowing. I know its a hassle to organise and do (which is prob why its only been done twice ever) but you guys should really consider showing the live talent off more often. Come to Glade this year and do an in dub set! (that would be AWESOME)
I love the way Ott was onstage so much, he is in my opinion as much of a sonic genius as mr posford himself, though not to detract any amount of respect from the latter, I thought his performances were incredible, as usual.

I have to say I didn’t think much of Eat Static’s set, but as has been mentioned, I could have also been a little cranky by then…

Bring on Ott 2! his second album sounds FANTASTIC.

Also - just a quick Q: There were cameras filming that night - does that mean there’ll be another DVD release? If not, where can one see the footage from friday night? Many thanks.

I most definately second that. i find that fully live electronica is quite rare to find atm, unless its at the big festivals. and even when you do find it, it’s even harder to listen to bands that pull it off as well as you guys did last night. twisted has always been one step ahead of the rest of the crowd, and i think this is definately a way to keep pushing forward and get even further ahead raspberry
and yes, sirdropsalot, glade would definately be a place to see it again!

oh, just a few Qs about the party though:
1: what happened to doof’s set in the main room? was well excited about that? shame he couldn’t make it
2: what happened to prometheus’ robots? was i blind/miss them or did they not make an appearance?

Wicked tune

I was completely blown away on friday. I was particularly impressed with the visuals. The use of MR and X-ray images was breath taking.

Q: Does anyone know who that song is by that starts of with a sample of some guy humming a tune in a bit of a retarded way before it gets chopped up and screwed with? It was totally amazing and I must find it. Think it might have been Prometheus, Koxbox or Eat Static. All I can be sure of is that it was in the main room. Anyway, let me know if you have any ideas.

Cheers

[quote author=”|-MAOinhibitor-”]Seriously,
i wonder if any of the people writing up these reviews have ever gone to a proper party b4. I never write reviews and things like that but this time… this time i cannot believe this disgrace. We trust twisted and only go to parties very rarely anymore. The last twisted party was one orf the best ever.

Funny how differently people can view things, I’ve been in the three last big Twisted parties, and I think this one was by far the best one. Everything worked, no queues, enough space on the dance floor, the sound volume was just right, air conditioning kept temps in check, it was easy to move around and as always, the music was top notch. The vibe was superb.

Dunno what happened to you there since your post is kind of harsh?

To expand on my previous post .. This party was seriously awesome.

We unfortunately missed OTT in the beginning. Hallucinogen in Dub and Younger Brother were good fun, quite weird and bold thing to do with the band setup. Sadly on the live band part the mix wasn’t that good, the more subtle parts of the tunes got lost. Good emotion and fun listening still.

Finally when the last members of the live band stepped out and it was just Simon & Benji doing their magic the party kicked up to a wholly different level. The latter part of the Younger Brother set got mental with a dance mix of Crumblenaut, an extended mix of Magic Monkey Juice and the Finger following each other, getting me bouncing with a silly grin for the rest of the night (according to photographic evidence).

Prometheus came on and what a set it was, we got all the goodies from both albums plus something I didn’t quite recognize, maybe new material or some older 12”, I can’t really say but I was bouncing like a happy little robot all over the dance floor.

And it just got better .. Simon came on stage and did an AMAZING DJ set as ‘Shpongle’. He really made the point that above all, Shpongle is about FUN. The beachballs & Age of Love thing was a brilliant move, got the crowd to express massive childish joy. Well at least me and everyone I could see smile My only wish was that it would have finished with ‘Shamanix’ but hey, it was perfect even without that!

During Koxbox I sat down to rest in the back of the room. I’m not too much into their sound so it was a good moment to gather the strength for the final highlight to come ...

Eat Static came on the stage. I wasn’t prepared to anything like this, the last time I saw the guys they played a mixed set of old and ‘In The Nude’ era stuff. Now this was something totally different. The BRAIN was easily the trippiest visuals I’ve ever seen and the tunes they played were just wicked. I was so completely into the audiovisual experience that I can’t really remember details like what tracks they played, I actually caught myself a couple of times having stopped dancing and just standing there and staring at the BRAIN which was living its own life, rushing through a cosmical experience, like it was actually an illustration what was going on within my head ..!

All the best to you guys for organizing this awesome night!

And to Merv & Joie, you guys HAVE to bring the BRAIN to Konemets
