Those are some harsh words from |-MAOinhibitor- for what, in my opinion, was an awesome party - def. the best of the last 3 twisted bashes.
I’ve been going to parties all over the world for the past 12 or 13 years and this one will go down as one of the best I’ve ever been to. Now that’s a personal opinion and not just based on the technicalities like venue/sound/organisation but the music, the artists, the visuals and how I felt before, during and after.
If the party was so bad for |-MAOinhibitor- then I feel sorry for him/her and thankful that I and most of the people I met had such a good time.
sorry i just deleted |-MAOinhibitor’s post…i didn’t realise i was able to delete stuff!! if anyone has a copy of it please repost it…. i dont want people to think there’s censorship going on here(even though he seems to have a serious gripe about the party!!!)
|-MAOinhibitor if ya there please feel free to repost your bilious bile…...

Seriously,
i wonder if any of the people writing up these reviews have ever gone to a proper party b4. I never write reviews and things like that but this time… this time i cannot believe this disgrace. We trust twisted and only go to parties very rarely anymore. The last twisted party was one orf the best ever. Three things make up a proper party: Music, sound, vibe. Most important is sound. How dare you invite us to your party twisted, with a 30 pound entrance and have present this sound to us with no shame? I am not going to swear or whatever, though i really want to. Was anything wrong with the sound? Please let me know. Tell mne something was wrong and i’llshut up. Shit happens, i know. Of all the kiddies there on Friday, did anyone realize how BAD the sound was? Not even you Simon? Frank? What are you people doing? Don’t you realize the responsibility on your hands? You know if this was the old days people would swear at you and i don’t know what else? Who do you think you are? You used to be lookep up on, but you can as easily become gardbage in our eyes if you become like those you criticised when you were young, idealist and truthful. What the hell was that Twisted? If you have one bit of honesty left come out and tell us something went wriong, with the sound system, the organisation, dont know…something… If not just stay put, and THINK you are happy by being praised upon by a crowd that obviously does not have a clue what these rituals are all about, by little girls who want to substitute Justin Timberlake for a psy Timberlake twisted sound and who will never realise what a shitty sound system can do to your brain. You know what i am taling about, lets see what you answer, it could be fun. I think we all understand each other boys. The Gods, positive or negative are not pleased with you this time, you fucked up, no vibe, no energy, just messed up brains and little kids coked out of their heads thinking this is a trance party.lol. Let’s just hope that can correct what happened. If not you could end up remixing for Armin Van Buuren, maybe even Tiesto if you are lucky guys….is that what you want? Lets see…maybe it is…
[quote author=“Simwod”]Q: Does anyone know who that song is by that starts of with a sample of some guy humming a tune in a bit of a retarded way before it gets chopped up and screwed with? It was totally amazing and I must find it. Think it might have been Prometheus, Koxbox or Eat Static. All I can be sure of is that it was in the main room. Anyway, let me know if you have any ideas.
Well I think that |-MAOinhibitor is in a very emotional state, very raw.
But did Twisted provide the sound rig and do the sound engineering?
That is a very important question.
Everyone has to operate within a framework - Twisted just wants to give their fans and supporters something back, and they have to operate within the existing milieu. Unfortunately it appears that it is very very difficult in this day and age to put on a fantastic free party. Those days are long gone, buried under tonnes of red tape and new legislation.
Did I have a good time at this party - YES - it was an amazing experience for me, and for many others. But lets not kid ourselves. In retrospect and from reading other forum posts it is clear that the sound was not up to the mark, and this may have marred some of the great performances on the night.
Ultimately we all have to respect the Twisted crew for giving something back to the people.
My two Norwegian friends who I met up with from this forum (fucking brilliant guys; a great laugh to hang out with!) and I ‘overdosed’ on some of that psilocybin mushroom chocolate you can buy in Camden. We were only at the show for half an hour; the rest of the night was spent looking for a hotel, checking in to the hotel (took, like, 20 minutes; we were so fucked), tripping our tits off and puking like deranged monkeys with food poisoning. Was actually pretty scary, I was sure I was never going to do drugs again. But fuck it! The day after we laughed it off and found the whole thing quite amusing. Besides, it was good to spend time chatting/throwing up with those Norwegians, heh.
So, yeah, I pretty much missed this event, but I had a blast at the DayTrippers after-party, buzzing my tits off on MD, hahaha. Oh, and did anybody venture to Jacks Club near London Bridge? That place is pretty immense; I loved the ‘stuff’ ( ) they were selling at the Dream Cafe thingy in the chillout room. Had my first acid experience. Was funny - the Norwegian guys missed their flight home because they were tripping too hard. They really didn’t seem to give a crap. Hope we keep in touch with each other. I’ll probably go to Norway to visit them soon.
Woot. Over 24 hours of partying at 4 different psytrance events… Not bad. Wish I could do it again tonight though!
(I’m so, so, so gutted I missed Hallucinogen in Dub [I need to hear ‘LSD’ live], Shpongle and so forth. It’s probably going to be a long time until I get to hear them live next. :( )

Eat Static came on the stage. I wasn’t prepared to anything like this, the last time I saw the guys they played a mixed set of old and ‘In The Nude’ era stuff. Now this was something totally different. The BRAIN was easily the trippiest visuals I’ve ever seen and the tunes they played were just wicked. I was so completely into the audiovisual experience that I can’t really remember details like what tracks they played, I actually caught myself a couple of times having stopped dancing and just standing there and staring at the BRAIN which was living its own life, rushing through a cosmical experience, like it was actually an illustration what was going on within my head ..!
hehe, glad someone else enjoyed eat static as much as me :D the dancefloor when they were on was nuts, absolutely nuts. in the pictures i have of people during their set everyone looks craaazy

Indeed! One of those experiences to be always remembered, I’ll definitely catch them again if I can.
wiccita wonka, I think I was standing behind you when you were sent back in the queue. You were on fire! They’d have probably let you in if only you didn’t speak! You were very funny. Made us giggle :D
[quote author=“wiccita wonka”]Haha, PsycheDanic, good to know I wasn’t the only one totally Out Of Order! Waiting in line like ticketed cattle for the slaughter with cops marching up and down did my head in. I got possessed by Billy the Kid who was freestyling in my tequila…said I had an AK56 up my bum when they frisked me, haha. They punished me by making me stand in the corner ala Little Jack Horner, then sent me to the back of the queue, then confiscated my ticket coz I abused them. Had to jump queues and buy another ticket in the end. The show however, had some mind-blowing moments…YB’s sustained hum shut me up, truly penetrative.
Party on, dude!
Hahahahahaha.
What were you on, man? And what sort of shit were you saying? LOL.
The party was fantastic! It was definitly the coolest thing I’ve ever attended.
My favorite was Ott, his new album preview was just mindblowing! Can’t wait for it! I also got the pleasure of meeting him afterwards - twice! He said it was great having me in the front going *crazy face*, and I got a picture+autograph of him :D
Hallucinogen in Dub was also awesome! Some of the songs were really really cool!
Younger Brother was a band I was actually somewhat unfamiliar with considering I’m quite new to this genre (started listening to Shpongle around 3 years ago), but after hearing them live I’m definetly buying the new album.
Tbh I didn’t really like Promotheus, it just didn’t have the same energy as those before him, but maybe that’s just me. But Simons Shpongle DJ set came afterwards and it was just superb!
Btw PsycheDanic, it was great talking with you in queue and early in the concert. Sucks that you got sick :/ Nice meeting you Come to Norway once!
I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU! to the Twisted crew.
I had a fantastic night at Brixton; it was so amazing to hear such a brilliant mix of Twisted classics together with the new material. What Psy/electronica parties in the world can offer such a high-class selection of acts and music? I
Thanks to all the organizers and people who made this event happen, including the crowd. I had the best party ever. Special thanks to Simon: everything you touch turns into musical gold, my friend
