I had my copy of U-Turn in my car for some seriously energetic driving sessions. I let my wife borrow the car and she took the CD out. (She’s more of a Blues gal) She must have made some sharp turns because it slipped off of the passenger seat and into the narrow spot near the seatbelt.
When I got back in the car I had to hunt for it and when I finally found it and pulled it out—SCRRRRRRRRATCH! It now sports a nice jagged gouge that goes all the way from track one to track seven. Needless to say I was a bit pissed. Ever heard of putting it back in the case honey?!?
Anyway, it would not play without skipping for those 7 tracks in the car. At home, same thing. Luckily, at work it did play…thought it confused the computer’s CD drive for a few initial minutes. Before worse could happen, I burned myself 2 new copies of the disc and stored the original away, just in case.
So this sorry has it’s happy ending, the copies play perfectly. I am not sure how since a good bit of data was lost in the gouge, but I would question my luck. Thank you Twisted for making discs that can take a licking and keep on tickin!
