Amorphous Androgynous - A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding in Your Mind Vol 2 (Pagan Love Vibrations)

Great stuff I got the first volume of this which is awesome and will get this very soon, what’s it like?

Yeah it’s really good, more of the same really, if you liked that you’ll like volume 2 I’m sure, it’s maybe not quite as good as volume 1 but having said that the CD 1 mix really is rather excellent!

I’m quite an avid metal fan!  Well, to be honest I listen to a lot of “avant garde” type metal but I really can appreciate the musicianship that is present in metal music, especially tech metal and the likes.  I think metal and trance are very similar to me in the fact that in both genres I am seeking something intense yet intricate.

Personally I listen to a lot of metal that uses strange time signature changes, breakdowns, and lots of experimental and boundary pushing vocals and instrumentation.  Currently I’m listening to The Dillinger Escape Plan - Panasonic Youth.  If you haven’t heard them, they’re pretty nuts and VERY diverse for a metal band.  I can’t say I like all their material but it’s incredible how good they are as musicians.  This is the song live if you have any interest, their stage presence is top notch.

Some other metal bands I like are:

Straight Reads The Line (my favorite metal band hands down, the vocalist is incredible!)
Ed Gein
Daughters
Meshuggah
War From A Harlots Mouth
Between The Buried And Me
The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza (probably next to SRTL as a fav)
See You Next Tuesday
Oh, Sleeper
The Number Twelve Looks Like You

And also I still can get down with a lot of metalcore and deathcore though they are more of the same thing usually I find so I listen to them mostly for breakdowns and heaviness rather than intricacy.

Anyway, what about you??  Glad to hear of more metal fans!

That stuff is pretty intense for me.  Some BTBAM is good, and I like Meshuggah.  I’m also a huge fan of Strapping Young Lad.

But as far as metal goes, I’m into mostly prog.  Dream Theater, some Opeth, Symphony X, Mastodon.

Lately I’ve been really into Arcturus and Ulver.

That’s cool man.  Yeah, I generally have trouble finding people with similar metal tastes but it’s always worth a shot.  Dream Theater is pretty awesome and Mike Portnoy is an amazing drummer.  I’ve heard of Arcturus but never heard them, I’ll have to check them out.  I’ve also heard some Mastodon and Opeth that I’ve enjoyed.
