Ok, so i have been around this forum about a week now, and it’s great to finally find a place where shpongle fans still post stuff, (fan-site is dead and webby too) and where shpongle fans can share informations and experiences .

NOW, to the point! smile I have read alot of the threads on the forum already and i keep running into posts about people mentioning tracks that are not on the 3 albums, and they keep babbling about how good they are.
So, if anyone would be so kind to tell me, what tracks are there, and where can i listen to/ buy them?  rolleyes

I think i heard someone talking about tracks with simon and Raja before they “turned” into shpongle, gimme those too :!:

Two often overlooked tracks are the Ozric Tentacles remixes that Simon did:

Ozric Tentacles - Pteranodon (Hallucinogen Remix)
Ozric Tentacles - Sploosh! (Youth And Simon’s Hydrophonic Decimation)

These were released by Posford a few months after the first Shpongle album; there are a lot of similar ideas in here and you can see which direction he wanted to go in!

Also around the same period were the two Walter Ego tracks on the Eclipse compilation

Walter Ego - Dubstuff
Walter Ego - Purple Pygmies

both completely excellent tracks, and once again you can hear the pre-Shpongle elements in there

(pre-Shpongle… I think that’s what comes out of my head when I’m about to peak!)

The Binah “Crescent Suns” track is extremely Shpongle-esque, I love it. Simon’s stuff on “Liquid Dub Volume Seven” also has some Shpongle flavor. Both came out a couple months after the first Shpongle album.

I love the Ozrics.

By the way, after reading your actual question - Look for a thread called “List of Shpongle tracks” here. (Too lazy to post link). That has an comprehensive list of all the non-album Shpongle tracks there are.

If you’re looking for some pre-shpongle stuff I warmly recommend you buy the Twisted compilation called “Eclipse”. It has most of the pre-shpongle stuff, particularly my favorites Walter Ego (simon solo project) and Nomads of Dub (Simon and Doof).

A short time ago, I discovered that one of the older Hallucinogen tracks called ‘Magik’ was co-written and produced by Raja Ram. It also has a very shpongled feeling to it. Unfortunately this track is quite rare. It was released on the “Beyond Colour”-compilation from Raja ram’s label Tip.world in the days before the first Shpongle album arrived. Good luck finding this album tho as it has been discontinued :?

The Infinity project - Raja Ram’s pre-shpongle band - also made some collaborations with Simon. Listen to “When sound becomes colour” when you get the chance.

Also, a new tendency to play a Shpongle remix of ‘Erection - out here we are stoned’ during the gigs has arisen of late. I’ve seen it played on vids from the Twisted party and a gig in Switzerland (link to the video in the Hallucinogen forum).
