I’m reminded of a trick that Posford has pulled the last couple of times I’ve seen him do a Shpongle set
He’ll start off with the remix of Frisbee (off the Remixed album), and then just as the big tribal buildup is about to reach its crechendo he’ll quickly fade over to the festive samba of the original
that’s one of the things about his live set i enjoy, he really gets into it, enjoys himself by remixing the music live. but i’m talking about paying to see the artist create. maybe it’s not so practical yet, but programs like ableton live are making it easier. i’d love to hear him simply playing with loops and effects, just freely improvising, seeing him in the creative moment. it may not sound as “good” as a cd, but then again, rock bands never sound as “good” live, sometimes it’s better, either way, there’s something about the live performace aspect of electronic music i’d like to see a lot more of. younger brother live should be amazing, it’ll be awesome to see a full band. shpongle live? ahhh, don’t get me started =)
well in may you’ll can see younger brother fully live -a seven piece band including the rytham section from the mighty band “the bays” plus me and simon will be playing synths live and running loops from ableton so it looks like your wish is our command….
weio.. live should be really live and not like nowadays psychadelic concerts.. anyway I would still like to add my pov: I do still think that live artists should add more live instruments such as Synths/Keyboards/Guitars/Drums/Bass/etc….
just to improvise and try to work with those instruments.. and fuck the metalheads.. it also works good with electronic and don’t get me wrong.. i love metal :D

I see that younger brother and the bays are both playing on the headlining stage at the glade fest this july, are you guys gonna play together again for that? A transition from one set to the other (eg the bays slowly edging their jam into a YB song and then you and simon coming on) would be VERY cool

There’s more to be announced though… and I REALLY REALLY HOPE that DJ ZYZZY will be doing one of his sets so powerful it’s like you just spontaneously combusted! (and for late late nighttime man, camp bisco NEEDS an improvised full set of this )
I mean c’mon Infected Mushroom, Hallucinogen In Dub….let’s make sure that this is the most innovative magical event for hallucinogenic music the world has ever seen….. this is witnessing world history in the making!

there are a shitload of infected shpongle fans… you’re a total numskull to even asses for a second that the 2 gods of psytrance… the 2 most creative, ground-breaking, world-famous, genre-pushing and well-known psytrance artists in the world, wouldn’t share the same fanbase. What a ridiculously harsh and unintelligent comment… please think alex! think!! (before speaking) . at least my brain hasn’t failed me… and neither has music, since I will be performing at the Orb Festival this summer… The largest ALL Psytrance Festival in the history of the united states!

im afraid I second alex, che. Infected Mushroom have nothing on the Twisted gods. And classing Shpongle as a god alongside the likes of Infected Mushroom is quite an incongruous statement in my opinion, no matter what festival you’ll be playing at this summer. (which I’ve never heard of). Shpongle is hard to even classify as Psytrance for me too, as its so much more. Prometheus and YB kick infected’s ass too as its like the difference between intelligent Psy with deeper shit goin on in it, and more monotonous generic psy of Infected. Dont get me wrong, I like a bit of isratrance now and then, but there is really no comparison with the likes of shpongle yb etc.
On another note - Antiworld fest in the UK - healiners along the lines of Infected, Eyal Yankovic, and, I think, Pendulum

GLADE FEST - with proper psytrance with stuff like YB, tristan, etc, and (thank god - my humble opinion) No infected mushroom. Or pendulum. (god I hate pendulum.)

I cant even give it a fair listen, and I give every album a try at least twice before it gets sidelined. Old stuff - yeh ok, fair enough, they had something going there.
