I have Hallucinogen’s Twisted album, and I’ve read about how amazing it is and all that, but I didn’t like it so I burned it to a DVD with a bunch of other boring music and then deleted it. I’ll admit that it does have flawless production, but when I listen to music the production quality is the last thing I pay attention to unless it’s done horribly.

Everything on Twisted just sounds like generic full-on goa when I hear it.

What does everyone here like about this album so much?

You’ve got to remember it’s 12 years old

Maybe it’s one of those “had to be there” things

PS: I just shocked myself by admitting that hallucinogen’s Twisted is, indeed, 12 years old

Wu-Tang Clan’s “Enter the 36 Chambers” is just as old yet still sounds modern. It is poorly produced due to low-quality equipment.

But I guess for EDM it’s different huh? =(

Does 36 Chambers sound modern, or does new rap sound old? tongue.gif

Have you heard Hallucinogen’s second album, The Lone Deranger?
Personally I’d choose it over Twisted any day

Actually 36 Chambers sounds both old and new at the same time. You can’t really describe the way it sounds compared to most other rap albums of any era or style. New rap sounds new and old rap sounds old. 36 Chambers sounds… everlasting?

I haven’t heard anything else from Hallucinogen actually. Now mind you, I am extremely picky about what goes in my music library these days, but I found Twisted before that become so and I’ve tried listening to it three times, each time giving up. I’m not so sure I’d like The Lone Deranger since I’ve strayed away from goa and psytrance in recent months.

Unless the album is like Symphonic Adventures or something from S.U.N Project it may not work for me.

However, I will go find some samples online to see how it sounds anyway.

It’s simple.
There’s no piece of music or art in general that EVERYONE likes.
You don’t have to like it anyway…
:D

btw WE LOVE IT :!:  :!:  :!:
