On C.O.T.I. at about 27-30 secs into the track I’m very sure that Posford samples the sound effect off the 70’s sci fi program ‘the six million dollar man’ when Steve Austin jumps up on to buildings etc, check it out…....

This clip has the sample in it….

I investigated, and I don’t think they sound that alike. It’s always possible that he took the sound and twisted it all to hell, but the sound in the track seems more variated in the high notes.

I agree they sound almost identical

But I doubt he sampled it: Posford is such a wizard on the synthesisers, it would take almost no effort for him to recreate that same sound all by himself (as opposed to sampling the original effect)

I doubt we’ll ever find out either….

IMACO they are identical eMCee Period

Anyone hear the Nextel chirp in the gangsta rap inspired Mentalism at 1’04”? again at 1’09”?

Simon, you silly bastid

It’s pretty common for people to fuck with samples.  I was at a party the other week and Braincell played some track that had that sound Roger Rabbit made when he went nutty for a minute in Who Frame Roger Rabbit in it.  It actually had me laughing.

PPS: you like this track, check out DJ Frane’s album electric garden of delights… specifically the track  in the garden

Yeah that may not be sampled directly from the Bionic Man,but for sure it was inspired by it
