although i really, really like the younger brother stuff, it is the new ott album i want to hear the most.
little poll here to see what you forum folk think..
I think the problem is that I’ve already heard some of the new Younger Brother stuff half a dozen times now, through the Camp Bisco recording and the New Wave Radio set, etc.
Meanwhile, the OTT album is going to be a complete wildcard… no idea what’s going to be on there!
Since it really seems that this Ott album has had a completely different mode of production and we have no real idea what it will sound like, I’d have to say that one.
I’m all for this new sound of YB, and I want to hear these songs in full length and not just samples pretty badly, but Ott takes the cake here.
Younger Brother of course!
:D
It seems so much different from anything else simon & benji & twisted have released so i can’t wait to listen to it! I think it’s going to be the most innovative 21st century’s chilling psychedelia!
Never really heard Ott, except of Hallucinogen - In Dub, which is no less than perfect. But as I love YB - A Flock Of Bleeps and have been listening to that plenty since I got it, I am desperately waiting for their new album (main album I’m waiting for this year). And I heard the tasters probably 20-30 times each
This is an easy one the dub master, saw ott when he came out to oz in march. an the new tracks sound more mental that the first album, an i’m sorry to say but si is wussing out on the new yb all sounds a bit girly. not saying that i won’t listen to him still, just think the crazy psy edge has been left behind.
hmmmm… difficult decision as i love both equally. but after hearing both of their new stuff at brixton i think im gonna have to go with YB. Ott’s new stuff sounded great, don’t get me wrong, but it didn’t sound that much different from the music on blumenkraft. YB’s new stuff on the other hand is music that is pushing forward in new directions and is something that i’ve never heard before, not only from simon and benji but throughout the music industry. So yeah. my vote goes to that one :D
on a side note: what else is in the pipeline for twisted this year, with the exception of these two albums and shpongle 4 (if it comes out this year that is…)?

I’m dying for Unusual Suspects 3 to come out, so I can hear some more Metal Sharon stuff!
I’ve tipped the scales here and gone for YB as the new stuff sounds just so original. However I didn’t get to the gig so I don’t know what OTT’s new material sounds like.
In the intereveiw Posford said that after July I think he was going to get back with Merv to carry on with the Metal Sharon stuff so an album just might well happen. Also wanting Unusual 3 to appear hopefully this year…
hmmm… metal sharon and unusual suspects 3 would both be awesome (especially metal sharon), but i was kind of hoping from a release from a newly signed twisted artist this year. would be great to get some fresh blood on the label again 8)
Hard choice to make and not wanting to upset the artists themsleves Two different styles for different moods. Both brilliant at what they do.
YB has upper hand in progression however OTT’s stuff is quality. Unfortunately was unable to make the party to check out the new stuff. Reviews are mixed on both sides. So I’ll go for YB also
That is a tough choice indeed, but considering Ott’s new album is a complete mystery to me, I will probably have to with his new disc. I’m the most excited about Shpongle 4, however… :D
