May as well keep the first post thing going in this thread, this song deserves it. Sorry for the long arse post!
Back story on me: I don’t hear lyrics as words, they sound like another instrument to me. Story of the song comes from the sound, not the words. Just the way my brain works. Sucks in some ways since the story portrayed through the wording is just as, if not more important, than the words. Though, with only sounds, the enjoyment can also come through an ever evolving story.
Some songs my mp3 player even tells me to quit playing so much, just so I can learn the words of a song. (Tend to put myself through the challenge before looking up online.) Doesn’t happen often, as the many times as I have to listen can wear down the song’s magic. This is one such song that I had to learn the lyrics of. I knew the magic wasn’t going anywhere. (Only second behind Shpongle’s “Periscopes of Consciousness” in plays.)
I thank all of the posters for help in deciphering this song. Got the cd on day one and still trying to decipher this entire song. (even from the very beginning, those vocal sounds at the start before the “I see” sound like distorted words, to the whacked out ending) One day I hope the full lyrics will be posted. Until then, the battle continues.
Being that my mind makes up stories for songs, I could be hearing the song totally different in some ways. But this is how I hear it. Imagine quoting MikeRat’s version since it’s helped a ton and only a few differences I hear. So here it goes:
(Vocal sounds seem like actual words distorted at beginning)
I see everyone cries
I see you care
Only when you find
Something to hold
The dreams aren’t bad
Try holding breath (“Try hold” part of that I can’t tell at all really, I hear the “ing breath” part though)
Lost myself in you today (I admit I was hearing “Host” which seemed kind of weird at first…)
Lost myself in every way (same as above)
I see your love in all you do
I see myself and you (the “and” I’ve always debated as “in” because of the thought of “Lost” being “Host”. The “in” fit in line of thought of “Host”. It’s hard for me to hear the “d” but I think the “Lost” and “and” are correct)
The story goes on and on
Hearing your words (Admit “Here in the woods” makes more sense and I can hear that also, I think I still believe this only because I’ve thought it was this for so long)
Now my friends
See you there
Hang a ribbon on a branch
Feel my feet on the soil
Free of trouble
Free from it all
Feel the air under your feet
It s<can’t understand this word> over me (real fast “slowly comes”?)
First steps you take
Best thing you make
Never alone
Always awaking (I hear something after “awake” almost like it was split up to rhyme in the way it was said)
Came to a bridge
Opened the door
Saw many more
And then you fall
It It It
It’s so crazy
It is
Hearing your words
Now my friends
See you there
Hang a ribbon on a branch
Feel my feet on the soil
Free of trouble
Free from it all
Together we can
Together I am
The world is my home (This one is hard, I’ve heard “The world is mine”, “The world is mind”, “The world is mround”, etc (yes, I said “mround”). Now that I see “It warms my heart” I can somewhat hear it now, too.)
(I’d love to know if the the vocals here are just mixed up samples or words in reverse)
It It It
It’s so crazy
It is
It It It
It’s so crazy
It is
Together we can
Together I am
Together we can
Together I am
The world is my home
Bye-bye ET going home (repeat 9 times) (I swear this is what I hear. However the “Bye bye ET” part just wreaks of being something else.)
