I’ve been meaning to post this topic for a while.
We always hear people ranting and raving about Simons first 2 albums.
Ask around, and 70% of all Simon fans will say their favorite track is “Shamanix” or “Horrorgram” or “Fluoro Neuro Sponge” (seriously!)
I think its due time that we gave respect to the lesser known and less popular Hallucinogen tracks that blow Shamanix out of the roof.
First off,
Bubble n’ Tweak - This song appears only on the game Gran Turismo 4, or the GT4 music cd.
This song is absolutely un-f***ing-believable! It’s a real shame that most people havn’t heard it.
The throbbing beat and hypnotic basslines rip through my brain like no other Posford track could ever dream!
It has to be Simons deepest, most throbbing, flowing, earthy track ever made!
Twisted needs to make this gem of a track more easily available. I’m sure it would quickly become a favorite.
Second,
Pipeworm - Many have heard it, but far too many have not!
Honestly, and truly, from the bottom of my heart (err…brain),
this is my most favorite Hallucinogen track of ALL TIME.
I think this song is less known because it came from a rather letdown album.
God Save the Machine got rather poor reviews, and I think it really hindered the potenial of this “god-like” song.
I don’t know what Simon does in this one, but this track takes me on the deepest voyage and creates the most incredible atmosphere of any other Hallucinogen track.
From the high glitchy opening, to the mid-song throbbing growls, to the insane “liquideous” percussion, this song is #1 on my list!
Why is it that no one ever mentions Gamma Goblins Pt 2?!
This has got to be Simons trippiest, most mindboggling, trip into insanity he has ever created!
It was the first Posford track I fell in love, and to this day, stands as one of my top favs.
Other “Lesser Mentioned / Lesser Known” tracks worth mentioning:
Spiritual Aniseptic
Spike
Synthesizzler
The Herb Garden
E
I hope I’ve made my point! :D
Any comments? Suggestions?
