I know that it’s put on hold, as Si and Raja’s making Shpongle 4, but will the Box Set ever be for sale? I’ve got all my Shpongle music on mp3, except the Remixed-disc.. Of course, I’d much rather have my Shpongley tunes on delicious spinning discs, but I don’t wan’t to be buying them all twice over (because of the eventual DVD or bonus disc included in the future bundle)! So.. I guess my question is: What’s the plan for Shpongle?

I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a copy of the mystical “4th disc”, full of unreleased Shpongle extras, and other bits and pieces

the plan for shpongle is to release a 4th album. then if that is to be the last then we might wrap it up in a nice box set. we will just have to wait and see. once things are confirmed we will update the news section on the front of the website.

I assume the singles and DVDs (if any) belong in a box set? If so, then a Hallucinogen box set’d be a problem, since the singles and songs were released on singles from Dragonfly etc. and what about the songs from Shpongle on compilations? would the songs be on one CD and belong in the box set? I know it’d be a hell lot of work for you, but that’d be the coolest kind of box sets.

yes maybe we could put all the singles on one cd and include it in the box set. that would prolly be the best way to do it.

That sounds good, I like to think that even after the 4th Sphongle they would leave it open as I’d be supprised if it could be topped

But does all this mean that you would recommend for me to buy each record, or that I wait for the box? =)

I’d just buy each album as you’ll be waiting years for the box set.

I’d be interested to hear the songs which “didn’t quite make the cut” for each of the three albums (especially the 3rd)

It would be really cool to hear unreleased shpongle tracks. So in that way it would be cool if there was a box set or just a bonus cd on the 4th album if it is to be the last.

yeah, good point… ..but no more shpongle is a scary thought non-the-less

I saw something from a german band: They took a pizzabag, took a 12"picturedisc (photo: pizza) for their album and another 7"Picturedisc (photo: tomato) for their bonus disc…and last but not least they put a codepaper into the bag to download the whole thing once again as MP3 from their website. Wouldnt it be possible to make something like this? Perhaps unrel Tracks to download from Twisted for the customers of the vinyl-version?...just an idea

I think after the comments made in the Raj & Simon interview on the new DVD this thread is worth a re visit.  Simon mentioned about Storm Thorgeson working on the box set and a bonus disc of Raj rabbling on maybe? 

Would make an interesting bonus disc…and maybe with a booklet with input from other band members….

Wow, it sounds cool. Lets hope this boxset will come true. What a relic it would be.
I’m also looking forward to get YB3 first .
