There is a tour planned. Maybe this has had to be binned because of the club people in Amsterdam not confirming.

really sorry to say that amsterdam aint happening…........there’s various reasons why all of which are really boring and come down to the promoter not being able to pull it off.
sorry for getting everyones hopes up but i’m gonna keep trying to sort something out for the dam later in the year as i really think it’d be such a great gig….....will keep y’all posted but for now…..............

keep the faith

That’s a shame would have been great to party with Twisted over Queens Day weekend.

If booking somewhere for later in the year please make sure it’s got an outside area cos after June 30th no more inside tokey-tokey!

hi tranquilised I think you will still be able to smoke inside; 8) here is a source via reuters.

“Coffee shops will be treated in the same manner as other catering businesses. They will be smoke-free,” Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende told NOS television.

“It would have been wrong to move towards a smoke-free catering industry and then make an exception for coffee shops. People would not have understood that.”

Establishments will not in fact have to be completely smoke-free. Proprietors will be allowed to set up a separate room or glass partition behind which people can smoke, but customers will not be served there to protect staff.  :D

here’s a funny story:
a friend who lives abroad emails me to say ‘let’s go to a wicked trance street party in amsterdam’. i go ‘ooh ok’ and look for info on the web. can’t find any and eventually friend says ‘check twisted.co.uk. all the info you need is there’. by the time this happens i’ve been so worried about the cost of flights going up that i have already booked flights for myself and boyfriend- non-refundable flights.

and now i find out that it was just a silly rumour? nice.

so, moral of the story: don’t believe things you see on the internet.

A shame you booked all the tickets etc. However it wasn’t a rumour. Benji(Prometheus) was trying to organize the party but had trouble with promoters and location I believe. In the end it couldn’t happen but there is a tour planned. Check out Younger Brother myspace and here for developments and info before booking any tickets. If you are still going to the dam as you’ve booked it hope you have a good time

Hey tecpag yeah this is only the case for the coffeeshops unfortunately- clubs (most likely place for a Twisted party to take place I guess), bars/cafes, public buildings/train stations etc and hotels (some chains even hotel ROOMS!) will all be covered by the ban like in the UK, outdoor festies are the only way forward!

Also I think they might try to use the “partition” idea as a stealthy way to close more coffeeshops down as most are too small to have different areas.

hi Tranquiiised,I’ve just recently returned from the Dam,and you are spot on dude, although a few of the coffeeshop workers were saying that as of yet they still did’nt know exactly how it is gonna work, one suggestion being that of the partioned area would benefit some shops but not all,and one depressingly saying you will end up buying weed from a FEBO type contraption  .I agree that the way forward for listening/dancing to music maybe in the format of a festival.Anybody know of any Dutch Festivals????????????????????????????????

I think the only one I’ve really heard of is Lowlands. Their site is down at the moment but I think it’s mainly techno. Not positive though.
