Hey Damion, long time no speak.
Good to know you like the new YB album, but I have to say I am slightly annoyed that you’ve got a copy and I haven’t!! lol one of the perks to doing psyreviews.co.uk I guess.
Anyway, hope all is well with you, I check out your site every now and again in the hope that someone else has released another alien project-esque album for you to rip to pieces lol, the good reviews aren’t as much fun to read.
I guess I better be off to start making some kids, otherwise I won’t have any to tell how cool I am for seeing Younger Brother live, several times in fact 8)

Yeah me too. slightly annoyed that is
I really liked the review, it is very detailed and saying “after this album you don’t really want Hallucinogen 3”, I am now even more eager to get the album. I had a feeling that All I want was a Pink Floyd style track just from the preview. The review has confirmed it. I’ve said just the preview of this track made me want to get the album.
[quote author=“electrobot.808”]Excellent reveiw and I really do need this now like a junky going to the pharmacy for a weekly top up.
:D
I know how you feel dude. The 15th is gonna take what will seem 2 years and not 2 weeks to come around. THe palms are sweating and the shakes are in the post.
I’m really looking forward to hearing this album.
Re: Younger Brother - The Last Days Of Gravity (Twisted)
This album definitely raised the bar for this emerging style of music (psychelectrical rock?). Hats off to the Twisted crew for once again sending me further down the rabbit hole. All I Want definitely has a wonderful Pink Floyd ring to it (as does the end of the album), and Psychic Gibbon’s unforgettable melody will have you humming even in your dreams. Each song of course isn’t without it’s own unique charm, but the truly amazing ones are truly amazing!
And for those of you who haven’t gotten this album yet ... WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!? Its only $9 (USD)
This album is excellent. I wrote a bit in the other forum saying how great All I Want and Psychic Gibbon are. However after listening for a third time this album just gets better. Elephant Machine seems to me to have a mixture of nearly everything. Your Friends are Scary to me is a beautiful serene track. Great bassline and it progresses really well.
I’m not going to write about these tracks until I hear it a few more times. So far though I’m really impressed so I think it can only get better
Well, I’m completely terrible for always giving rave reviews to new music I’ve just listened to, and this doesn’t seem to wanna break the cycle. Younger Brother’s new outing = FANTASTIC.
Well after listening the album for about 100 times i may say the album is a unique masterpiece.

It manages to blend a lot of styles. Pink Floyd + The Egg + Massive Attack + Younger Brother + Shpongle + + +.... = Last Days Of gravity.
There could be no better way to mix all these only in 68 minutes of time and get this fine piece if music.
Only the next album of Younger Brother can show us another way to do it…
Thanks Simon & Benji & all the other artists - crew involved.
OK, I’m not writing a long reply to this thread at all, I just need to express my COMPLETE and utter LOVE for this album!
I ordered it on CD, but couldn’t wait so I had to buy it on iTunes too… and wow, was I not disappointed! Or that’s an understatement… I… well… I can’t find the words…
SIMON AND BENJI! THANK YOU FOR BEING SO AWESOME! :D
After selling out the Carling Brixton Academy on 25th May 2007 to 4000 people for the launch night, Younger Brother are back, with another genre-busting album. The psychedelic trance pioneer Simon Posford (Hallucinogen, Shpongle) and genius Benji Vaughan (The Egg, Prometheus) team up with their band in a breathtaking album with stunning sound production and an incredibly varied musical journey.

That’s the promo text on saikosounds. Selling out Brixton Academy? 4.000 people? Come on guys wtf. LAME. Doesnt’ fit the Twisted Records image AT ALL imo.
Why LAME? Also that text is very similar to the review on psyshop. Apart from your dislike about selling out at Brixton the review was pretty spot on. Hard to write a review for this fantastic album

What is the “Twisted Records image”, then? Please, enlighten us. Is it 100 people in a dank pit, somewhere in the London burbs? I see… I thought Twisted was about good music. I didn’t know it was supposed to be a big, underground secret, like Fight Club. Times change…
Start complaining when Simon and Benji surround themselves with 6 bodyguards, show up 1
The Brixton Academy gig was everything BUT sold out, they even didn’t open the balcony because there were too few people.
Now Twisted’s lying about it, and why? To impress some people or something? To make a spotless image for Younger Brother? Sorry but neither Twisted or Younger Brother need bullshit and fake promo texts imo.
I thought Twisted was about no bullshit and lame marketing tactics.
So Dimutech & Dr papa, you don’t see a problem in lying to people to impress more and maybe sell more CD’s? That’s cool, but I think it’s pretty lame.
I haven’t checked the CD out yet, but I saw them live at the Brixton Academy gig and the surprise closing DJ set at OZORA. It was 1 of the best live performances I ever saw and probably the best I’ve seen all year. The DJ set was from the same calibre.
So I’m pretty sure I’m gonna like the CD and that it’s gonna be my favorite CD of the year.
If you don’t like my bitchin’ well I suggest you scroll past it next time, on to the next “Ow my god how good is it” post.
