I waited two years to hear and buy this album…

I was disappointed too after the first listen last night.
Am going to listen to it again now and see if it has any different effect.

*arse* a second listen didn’t improve my aural experience, this didn’t do it for me

Supriced to see that there is obviously many people disliking this album.

Well, have to admit, that its a big change from the first album, which is good too.

But this one, the last days of the gravity - is one of the most innovative music i have heard under the flag of electronic music-flag (? sigh, there is much organic blended in too, i like that aspect too )

For me this album is one of the cornerstones of creativity - it raised the bar and clearly effected me ( and so many others ) - album did not open for me at first listen, maybe not even on second one. But when it did - i was guite stunned by the complexity and how the whole ambum works as a one flowing entity.

Album that beats its younger brother - indeed. ^^

sometimes the albums that take several listens to absorb and get it become my favorite. I think Last Days was one of those albums.

I love The Last Days…which was solidified after seeing them live in San Francisco last year…amazing live! Probably one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

It might be different for me because I heard Last Days before I heard A Flock of Beeps…but they are both brilliant albums in their own way. I can’t really think of any other artist that comes close to the YB sound other than the artits other projects in the band.

I’m sure the 3rd album will be stellar and can’t wait to hear it!

i realize this isn’t exactly breaking news, to review an album that came out 2 years ago, but hey, some music is timeless, so maybe a review can be too.

i freaking love this album. it is such a tight piece of work and is really a brilliant direction for Simon & Benji to take it. it is probably one of the most listened to albums in my rotation over the past year plus.
i love that it feels more like a fuller “band” project and that it is also a really full and complete “album” and not just a collection of songs.
hell, i like it so much, i bought it as a digital download when it became available, and then just bought it on CD along with the new Shpongle, just so i could have a physical copy and get to see the nice artwork by Storm!

the 1st YB album wasn’t all the momentous to me. it has some great tracks, but just felt like a side project on some levels. this is so much it’s own thing and is now fully realized. and honestly i enjoy it more than recent Shpongle stuff, although i have to say “Shpongleland” is also brilliant and is restoring my faith in that sound.

ok. so not much of a review. more like fan drooling, but hey… that happens sometimes.
Simon and Co. and music heros to me so i love supporting them in any way i can…

Through this album I found completely new ways to listen to music. I never was a big fan of rollercoasters but this one in pure sound form is quite something. Addictive even to the point of being scary.
Sleepwalker is my favourite, listen to it at the right moment and you’ll really find yourself sleepwalking.

Just thought I would post my quick 2 cents…

I got this album right when it came out, and have had a solid 2 years now to listen to it. I had Flock of Bleeps for about a 8 months before I got LDoG.

When I first listened to LDoG, I was beyond horrified. What the hell had Simon done? This is not YB, just silly mainstream sounds with an electric tinge. I posted a scathing review on some forum about how much it sucked.

About a week later I loved the album.
2 years later it’s in my top 5. Long surpassing flock of bleeps.
It’s truly golden, just takes some time to sink in.

Loved it from the 1st listen..But it is a tendency these days to take it more crossover between electronic and acoustic music ( Amorphous Androgynous/FSOL to name one ex). I personally LOVE it!! The best of both worlds….
