Someone did make a post in this forum with an Ella Fitzgerald track. In there ia sample used on My Head feels like a frisbee. I don’t know where else though sorry
...erh, my uncle said the guitar/bass or whatever part at 1:25 on Circuits of the Imagination is based on the beats from Billy Cobham (Jazz I assume), don’t know from what song though, but I heard it’s quite known.
Don’t know any tracks they’ve sampled, but i remember a tv-advertisement (I think it was a deodorant ad by Axe) rolling on tv about a couple of years ago with a music including very familiar female voice sample.. I’m 99% sure Shpongle has used the same sample in their first album. I’m not sure about the track but I think it was “Shpongle Falls”. Anyway, it was this kind of an ethnic type of vocal going like “oodao o, oodao o” or something.. I wonder what the track in the ad was and who used the sample first. And where it originally came from. But nice sample anyway
And everyone propably already knows “The Simpsons sample” in the last album
the same sample of a female voice is used in both ott’s “smoked glass and chrome” as well as shpongle’s “monster hit”. anyone else notice this? ott’s track uses a lot more of the sample, but you can clearly tell its the same… wonder where that’s from.
on monster hit it starts around 5:00, on smoked glass it starts around 1:50… they both continue throughout.
That guitar melody is actually a theme from Manuel de Falla’s ‘El Amor Brujo’ (haven’t heard the Paco de Lucia track, I suppose it’s a transcription of it or a piece based on that).

Yeah! I just listened “smoked glass and chrome” on last.fm and noticed the similarity. And that’s exactly the sample I was talking about earlier, but didn’t remember the track correctly (I don’t own ‘Are you Shpongled’ yet :() Still, the track in that Axe advertisement was neither of the tacks. I quess the sample may come from some sample cd, propably the one that’s mentioned on some discussions on this forum. I quess that particular sample collection is very widely used in psy scene (?)
what was the simpsons sample you were talking about?
There’s the sample of Ned Flanders talking to Homer, when he starts tripping after eating the Mexican Insanity Pepper at the Chilli cook-off, just as “The Nebbish Route” starts on Nothing Lasts…
