does anyone (or simon h or other twisted people) have the complete lyrics to psychic gibbon? i’ve figured out most of it, i think, but was wondering if anyone else had gotten it all down.
We were discussing this last night, its the most beautiful song ever, but I think you are all right something about rivers, sky fingers and toes with the most lovely noises ever surrounding the words.
[quote author=“Installero”]The guitar is from “The Cure - Last dance” track. I was totally shocked to know it.
That’s kind of depressing, actually. I get some sampling, like tribal chants and instruments that people just don’t have access to, but this seems unnecessary. I don’t know. Maybe it’s an homage I’m not seeing.
i’m really offended that people are saying we stole this riff off the cure….we made it up on a rainy night in newbury with no reference to the cure….in fact i came up with the riff and have never heard the track i’m supposed to have stolen it from…...i just checked the track on limewire and the riff isn’t even the same so please dont go around saying we nicked it….....

You really upset me by saying something like that! To think they would ever just steal a riff! A sample of a voice is one thing (Weird on a monday…) but stealing a riff isn’t YB’s style!
I’m actually feeling so mad that I have to chill down with some YB (like I wouldn’t listen to them otherwize duh!).
Ribbon on a Branch has some very sweet lyrics indeed, although, I dont really pay too much attention to them, having the general idea is ok, Im sure, and the music kind of says it all anyway. Psychic Gibbon is the greatest trippy love song, the riff is so simple but dead nice - dead nice..hmmm today has been long and dull..clearly. Its much better than dead nice but I cant think of much else to say.
