who likes the idea of shpongle dancers on stage during the shows?
girls with hula hoops, ribbon dancing, or poi (fire ball and chain)?
-not to say that Shpongle live(i wish) or Dj set isn’t entertaining enough, but what about bringing the actions meant for the sound together?
[quote author=“radioactivesandwich”]dancers are stupid.
you’re there to see shpongle, not some tripped out hoes with hula hoops!
not everyone who goes to shpongle shows or any other electronic music are fucked up…some people actually appreciate the music, not just go to the shows as an excuse to hear cool noises when you’re tripping
i’m gonna have to say when i go to shows… i want to see whoever is making the music, underneath sick lights, and possibly an artist on the side painting. i think someone already mentioned it… but there are plenty of hot girls in the crowd to watch….. wink
i can’t even imagine wasting a show to hulahoop. when the beats start, you just need to GET DOWN!!
When Simon came to Santa Rosa there was basically exactly what you were describing behind him. Some of the suspended ribbon stuff was jawdropping and I’ll admit it added a bit to the performance, but the idea of Shpongle traveling around with their own dance troupe for DJ sets seems a bit ridiculous.
dancers and jugglers would be awesome! along with a bearded lady and trapeze. how about the bearded lady ON the trapeze!
i don’t think si p wants to worry about an ill-tossed fire poi landing on his head during his set. if you want to see dancers, dance with your eyes open. i’ve usually got my eyes closed anyway when i’m along for the ride..
watching raja dance is infinitely more entertaining than watching girls dance… not that girls aren’t fun to look at, but seriously, anyone who has seen raja dance knows the truth.
now if raja TRAINED the girls to dance, then it may be a different story.
I saw a video on you tube with 2 girls dancing to Simon playing some shpongle and to be honest as it was obviously not thought about it didn’t look to good. So I just closed my eyes and listened instead
