well…i just got Alan Parson’s album A Valid Path and listened to Return to Tunguska…i think that the version which Simon plays in that set is a kind of different than the original one :?:  :!:

Thats exactly what im saying - ur not “getting deaf”  - its just another version. the album “A Valid Path” has david gilmour on guitar whereas the other set version is different. simple.

My guess is that Simon was playing an unfinished version; remember the set was recorded in 2002 but A Valid Path wasn’t released until 2004

So they probably hadn’t gotten Dave Gilmour in to do the guitars yet

the version without David Gilmoure’s solo guitar happens to be Alan Parsons & Shpongle - Antarctica

ahh, the pieces have finally come together!

I’ve been searching for info on the mystery ‘Antarctica’ song for quite a while now, I didn’t know if it was even real or not

How’d you find that out?

While we’re on the subject of guitars, I can’t wait to hear some more stuff by Metal Sharon… I think Merv has had some input on the instrumental front, I heard a few tracks at Soulclipse that sounded positively twisted! Really grinding guitars…
