Hey…
some days ago I was told to listen to an album called
M.E.E.O. - Highlight me please (Demon Tea Records)

So I did and was a little bit shocked…not bout the quality or something like this, but I figured ther’s many samples used that remember me of old Hallucinogen tracks. Not only 1 track…nearly the whole album is like an old H-album. Dont know what I shall think bout this covering… Could anyone else listen and tell me if my ears are still good enough or if I hear ghosts?
Probably this could be interesting to know for the Twisted-Crew!?

Hey nice find, sounds good. Are you saying it’s a rip off of Hallucinogen? I wouldn’t say so, sure it’s not a million miles away but that’s a good thing.

Perhaps I couldn’t tell from the clips.

Quite a few…couldnt say exactly cause i dont produce myself…but I could ask a friend…he owns the album…I dont know if the clips tell the sampled parts or if they are excluded. Perhaps u have to listen to the whole album first to have this opinion i have…

Th things i recognized are some parts of Gamma Goblins, Snarling and I think ther’s also a shpongle-sample in these tracks…

Well, if it’s just samplings then they have the right to use them. As long as it’s not a direct rip then it doesn’t matter (I havent listened to it, I’m just saying)

There’s some similarities but I wouldn’t say it was ripped from Hallucinogen. There is a lot of similar synth soounds also. It sounds cool

...but its leaning on H-Sounds…perhaps the producer was influenced or infected by it or he just thought they would be cool…whatever:

Well I guess there are alot of artists who are influenced by the Hallucinogen sound. Just like there are alot of artists influenced by the cllassical mushroom sound also. When you hear great sounds you try to emulate whilst also adding your own little touch to it. That’s the fun part

Thats why I love mixing

If it’s the album I’m thing of my mate has it and it is one of the maddest albums I’ve heard and didn’t make very good listening.
