Not sure where to post this, but I didn’t want to violate some sanctity by posting a non-twisted releated music question in the twisted music area.

Anyway, a while ago I bought the Circuit Breaker album by Tripswitch. I immediately and to this day abolutely love it… great, clean, good sounding, musically and sonically mature tracks. Nothing on it sounds “super produced” either, which is a nice quality sometimes.

I am curious about other people’s opinions of this album. Anyone care to share?

I agree, it’s a great album. Definitely one of my favourites of last year. 8)

Agree also, it’s a great album and it still gets hammered - high quality stuff.  I love the sample from the K-pax film with Kevin Spacey, nicley done…

Yeah it’s nice to hear a “well thought out” album that is not overdone (IMHO). Like an exceptional degree of thought and effort went into it. Lots of albums in the “chill” genera (ambient/dub/downtempo, etc) don’t really do it for me. I mean - they are great to listen to when I go to sleep, or in a tent while sitting on a pillow and sucking a hookah, but too often the tracks seem generic and without a real soul. Either it’s that, or they are a few sampled loops, some ethnic FX, and the sound of someone sitting on a keyboard for 8 minutes.

I kinda felt that way about the Misted Muppet album… great, acidic, harsh stuff - but the tracks seemed to be somewhat amorphous and non-centered. Like they werent “songs”. Does this make any sense?

i have just bought this album pretty much based on what everyone here has said -
smile
i think its a good thing that people are discussing different music! ok - yes! this is the twisted forum - but the guys who work as twisted artist are all influenced from elsewhere to - id be lying if i said that i only listened to psy chillout/trance - if im being completely honest i dont listen to a huge amount of psy trance at all and i am quite picky about what i do listen to -

i guess what i am trying to say is that we should exchange new artists and new music with each other - if somehting twisted is realeased - we will all know about it - but its the obsure things you would never have listened to in the first place that sometimes provide the greatest influence and inspiration in your life.

has anyone heard of ‘Jose Gonzalez’? - the most beautiful acoustic musician i have ever heard - the man had changed my perception of what i properly capable when writing music. i thknk of teh layers of sounds i put into my tracks for atmosphere and Jose could fill up the universe with just his voice and guitar - truely and inspiration.

maybe we should have i once a week/ two week thread where everone posts up 1 new artist to listen to so that we all get to experience new music and can share our passions

good idea??????????

Any suggestions for a new thread??

I’m as bigger fan of Dakini records as I am Twisted check out Makyos and Puff Dragons albums from back end of last year, down tempo ethnic chillll

I just got CIrcuit Breaker, and I love it to. Psychill is my favorite type of music. Did notice that he sampled Ott’s guitar from “A Load up at Nunney Catch” in “Roll Your Own”, though. But it works well.

Not to long ago I also got Ishq - Orchid. That’s some really amazing ambient. Very deep and chilled out. I really recommend it.

Matt from Ishq is a boffin of ambient and yes the Ishq album is timeless.  Have you heard any of the stuff he’s been doing on the Virtual label, very minimal and limited release numbers.  Check out this sites :D

He’s doing some new stuff this year, get on the mail list to stay up dated…

Yeah, in an interview (Here: http://www.psyreviews.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=245&Itemid=48), Ott said that it’s Daz playing the guitar.
