yeah so what are everyone’s favourite record labels?
a few of mine, mostly psychedelic/dub/ambient/chillout labels:
Twisted Records (of course)
Dakini Records
Liquid Sound Design
Interchill Records
Native State Records
Pork Records
Elektrolux
Spirit Zone
Ultimae Records
Waveform Records
[quote author=“moodysteve”]Besides the fine choices mentioned several times already…
...Virtual (Matt Hillier’s label)...
I didn’t know Matt Hillier had a record label.
Thats fantastic!
Thanks for the info. :D
Edit: Just checked it out, Seems as though only his 2 albums were released under it….
I thought he had multiple artists under that label. I misunderstood.
Giwa Productions. My mate Sienis has had several releases with them on comilations and also an album release
Shaman electro records as well. Released Taruna World Fusion 3. Shiva Space Technology did 1 + 2
He has three more releases lined up but has been very coy about giving release dates or information after a bit of a debacle involving delays with ‘Infinite Garden’.

For all of you Virtual/Matt Hillier fans, they have FINALLY updated their website and released VR03. It’s called Colourform - Visions of Surya and my copy is en route to me as I type. I will hopefully maintain the discipline to steer clear of the mp3 sample so that I can have a truly fresh listen.
Matt also recently released a proper copy of his ‘Ixland’ work under his Indigo Egg guise.
thanks for the virtual info, moodysteve. I think I’ll also order the Colourform album.
Also on the virtual site, it says that another album is coming on May 24 called Timelapse in Mercury as part of the Virtual Space series (VS01). I’m guessing that’s just going to be released under the Ishq alias? it doesnt have an artist name on their site.
Timelapse in Mercury isn’t actually new, but like ‘Ixland’ has only been floating around as a bootleg. I’m not sure what alias he’ll use, or if he’ll do a new one.
When I talked to him last year, he had been planning on working on a new Ishq album as well as releasing a live Ishq PA on the label Electronic Soundscapes.

Hillier & Posford collaboration, anyone?
Got my copy of Surya this week - Matt H is a genius!!! a Posford and Hiller collab would just float like clouds!! :D
I have a feeling that I will be investigating the folds of Visions of Surya for years to come, much like I’ve been investigating the terrain of Shpongleland for the last 6. It’s not nearly as gentle a listen as Elve’s ‘Infinite Garden’ although it’s texturally similar.
A Posford and Hillier collaboration would be a cataclysm of psychedelia…we wouldn’t want that falling into the wrong hands.
