Ooooh, I did really enjoy myself, thank you very much Twisted, if I had half Raja’s energy… he is remarkable. Totally thrilled to see Chris Taylor and Andy Gangadeen up on stage playing with them, I am of the opinion that Andy Gangadeen is the greatest drummer in the world. All the people I met were truly lovely, I met Swedes, Canadians, Dutch people and ofc quite a few British & it was ace to see all the effort people had put in regards fancy dress, my favourite costume was an Alien who had extra eyes and bumpy skin, well great! Awe thanks everyone it was a dead special night….. even the security lady was OK (in the end )
I was a bit sad about Scala the queue was too much - we waited for about an hour going nowhere fast, then decided to ‘sack it’.
Concert of our lifetime indeed. Scala was just a place to go to come down. I’ve never seen something as spectacular in all my years- THANK YOU TWISTED (and all the guest artists, singers, dancers and people- we were the centre of the universe on Friday)!
What an amazing gig, rumours of a dvd to follow…. or was it shpongle tv???
I met some wonderful people from all around the world, Canadians, Dutch, Israelis, Americans… ooh and lots of Brits :D
Mister Ram *bows head* you are amazing and like what has already been said you have the energy of a 4yr old on a sugar rush!! Thankyou Simon for having the vision and fulfilling it, and I hope this will happen more often….... we need a mecca and the roundhouse was perfect!
What happened to the opening act? We were all just standing there for over an hour and a half and then Shpongle just came out. I am glad that they finally did but it would have been nice to have a live opening act and not just the cd playing.
The show was completely amazing but my only 2 little complaints is that they didn’t reherse a encore. I am sure that is how they planned the whole night but when you are done and go off stage they must have known that people we going to chant for an encore. Would have been nice if they planned one last song to come out and do. And then my other little nick pick was the band at all but the sound guys. It almost seemed that they put the levels too high and the speakers were working too hard and were cracking with the high bass and then Rajas flute and sometimes the sings were drowned out by the drumming.
As a whole it was EPIC though and would go again no doubt.
My wife and I travelled from Toronto Canada pretty much just to see the show and attend the party (with a prequel side trip to Amsterdam, and the Tangerine Dream concert the following night. We had a simply fantastic time, though being a bit on the older side (yeah, we were the old Canadian couple in the psychedic hippy costumes), some of the crush down front got to us, but we dealt with it for the first half and moved to the back to catch our breath and listen a bit closer. We met some really cool people, sorry if names escape me, it was really quite overwhelming for us! Did not have a chance to get any email addresses (a PM here works, and I am SherpaJohn on myspace as well!), there’s some folks we would like to keep in touch with.
Even more saddly - we wasted a pair of tickets to the after party. Thinking back, I wish I had sold them outside the venue. We really wanted to go, in fact checked the queue 3 times between 11:30ish and 1:30ish, but running into folks who had been in line for an hour and hardly moved from way around the corner was so disconcerting we gave up and went back to our hotel for the night. Whoever was in charge of security owes my wife and I (and a lot of other folks) a huge apology and maybe some money for time and money wasted. Its sad to have such a magical experience marred in this way.

Yeah had to check out on the after party as well. I was able to pass my tickets on for the same price as I bought so no loss there. The only loss being missing out on the fun
Thankyou SO much Twisted and Shpongle for putting on literally the concert of a lifetime!! I’ve never been so completely awestruck by a concert as I was at Shpongle, we were all completely speechless when we left, all we could say over and over again was ‘wow, that was amazing. sooo amazing!’
The afterparty was fantastic too, had an awesome time, with the green nuns being the absolute highlight!! :D Although I do have to agree with the others, the queue was absolutely RIDICULOUS. we ended up waiting over 2 hours in the freezing cold and i missed most of prometheus’ set as a result which i was really looking forward to hearing. Really bad organisation IMO, the Roundhouse managed to get around 3000 people in in less time than scala took to get in 1000 people. They should have known that nearly everyone was going to arrive at once and organised themselves better in order to deal with it…
But apart from that, all I can say is a HUGE THANKYOU to everyone for making this such a special and memorable night, and I just hope I will be able to experience another show like that again sometime in the future.
Ohh, and did the concert make anyone else ridiculously excited about shpongle 4? LOVED the new tracks, especially the first one, I am you and the one with the beeeaaautiful drum solo. Top work simon and raj, can’t wait!

Tangerine dream was classic not to be missed old skool as Sphongle is once in a lifetime new skool The audience was quite different - almost all old folks like us - but they enjoyed it as mich as we did!
Shpongle was amazing, beyond everything what I imaging beforehand. Huh. Wonderful job from Twisted and it is going to be a magnificent DVD if video and sound materials are high quality. Let’s hope so. Also, let’s hope that there is not too much vain post production effects and visuals with final product, I would like to see the concert much more like the original feeling was. It was so psychedelic show itself and there is absolutely no need for extra trickery. Those make easily very cheap feeling.
Nevertheless. It would have been a great shame, if I should’nt there, once in a lifetime… oh yes indeed!

We too were in a Tangerine Dream concert on saturday, it was great. Of course much more sofisticated and oldskool. Great gig! =)

Couldn’t agree more, it doesn’t need many effects etc. the show was shpongled enough! :D
i was vjing at the afterparty as part of magiclantern in the main room and thought you all may like to see my film clips from the night….and the shpongle gig….
Just to weigh in on the afterparty queue. It was absurd! Where does a sober adult go to the bathroom in that area while waiting for hours in a line in the freezing cold? Sorry, I am not pissing on some apartment wall down the street… My friend was ready to bail after the first hour, but the idea of seeing Prometheus, OTT, Eat Static, Capsula and the rest of them live was enough to keep me motivated to wait and wait and wait… After waiting for hours for seemingly no reason at all, we finally got up to the front where we showed our ticket and walked in. WHAT THE HELL WAS THE WAIT FOR? We got in to find that we had totally missed the Capsuia set and a good portion of Prometheus. I am so absolutely in to this scene that I would probably do it all again if I had to, but the worst of all this is I can’t think of a single reason why we had to. It really was a terrible rash on an amazing evening. We flew over from Chicago, IL in the USA and spent a small fortune just to come to this show and we would probably do it all again so please please please don’t allow this to happen again if at all possible. Thanks.
We saw a digital temperature reading across the street on a billboard- minus 1! Who woulda thunk it? That’s like 18 degrees for the Americans out there.
Goodness yeah, it was a very cold, very long wait. After about 2.5 hours - halfway in the queue, my friend’s brother managed to get us in. We got inside in time to see Prometheus. yay! 8)
