So we all know that Shpongle is performing a live set at the Roundhouse on October 31st. Question is: Will there be other performances to extend the evening??
Some DJ sets perhaps before and after Shpongle perform!??!
After all, we are all going to be completely decked in the most outrageous Halloween getups and many will be smashed out of their minds, so if this only lasts for a couple of hours what would we all be doing from 9:00 on?
I will just be happy to see Shpongle, however that said… a little bit of Ott & Younger Brother as well would be a dream of dreams wouldn’t it? I cannot wait but as noone has bothered to invent a time machine for me yet, I will just have to wait :D
Don’t want to sound like a misery, but to me this is a concert, not a party.
I can go and get spaced out until 6am any weekend in london and have done at twisted parties several times. This is different to me, this is more epic, a proper orchestra backing up Simon Posford in a proper venue…..droooool
I think some are missing the thing here. It’s basically a concert and not a party. It’s like where say Pink Floyd is playing in Earls Court. They may have a warm up band but the main event and the one that closes is Shpongle. That’s how I have come to understand it. Just like most concerts it will be done and dusted by 10 I reckon
[quote author=“Worm4000”]so I’m flying across the atlantic ocean for 2 MAYBE 3 hours of amazing .... I mean don’t get me wrong, I’ll fuckin’ do it…. but damn, I was hoping I’d at least get like 5 hours of crazy or something.
I’m not 100% but what with it being at the roundhouse I assumed it’s just Shpongle maybe with something before. Hopefully I’m wrong. I was thinking maybe 3 hours or so
A few references to Zep and the Floyd… I guess Jimi, the Doors and Pink Floyd all played at the Roundhouse, Shpongle will undoubtedly be all that for the freaks of today. I’m sure nobody who saw Jimi in the Roundhouse in ‘68 or whatever was like “yeah, it was ok, but he only played for two hours…”, god no, they’re like “my life could have ended the day after Jimi played, everything’s been one huge come-down since then”. That’s what they’re like. and then they go on about Woodstock or Hawkwind playing Glastonbury or whatever, and I’m thinkin’ “man you guys had some crappy herbs back in the day, try some of this silverback”.
Someone, somewhere will organise an afterparty in london after the show. fear not 8)
It would be a serious waste of an opportunity not too, imagine it: something like 1500 people all just recently getting out of one of the best concerts of their lives, still bubbling with energy and wanting to carry on getting shpongled.
heck, maybe theyll even be able to persuade a few of the twisted artists to do some dj sets…
This will be the best concert ever, but let’s be realistic; Shpongle is not the ideal music to actually DANCE to, so I think it’ll be more of a listening-concert, I mean, imagine Shpongle with a live band playing alongside with the already incredible tunes.
Me and 5 other friends of mine are travelling all the way from Norway to watch Shpongle Live.
