i love shpongle, but i’m trying to broaden my horizons towards the freestyle electronic techno-tripster style, a little less tribal-acoustic sound. anyone out there have any suggestions for me? i got turned onto shpongle from a disco biscuit listener/friend—if you’ve ever heard disco biscuits really get into the groove, where they just blend the sounds of their instruments in and out where you can’t even tell who’s making what sound, but everyone in the whole place is funkin’, and they blend from one song into another into another for a whole set, and they throw in some dj style mixing—you know what i’m talking about? sector 9 also does it when they’re really on fire, and no one in their right mind can help but dance their little asses off—it goes way beyond just ‘techno’, or ‘electronica’—we just call it ‘the funk’—i guess maybe ‘techno-trance-freestyle-funk’ would be the closest thing to describe what i’m searching for…‘nothing lasts…but nothing is lost’ is onto it, but no electric guitar really, i don’t like screeching, hurt-your-ears electric guitar, but the blending you can do with electric guitar is key—and no really deep, dark, bass-led jams—that’s another key to the music i seek, is low down funky bass riffs, anywho—that’s about the best i can explain what i’d like to hear—can anybody help me?
