Hi all,
Please post here some pictures of your audio system. Good productions deserve to play on a good system.
Do you prefer a pure stereo amplifier or it’s OK with a home cinema component?
Personally I prefer with 2 speakers only, the reason is simple: music is made with only the left and the right to reproduce the scene, then some the speakers and all the elements to be as good as having the accuracy to form the scene right in depth and reality.

I’m with you on this Raphy and one reason why I hate down load so much is that the music is so well produced it has to be heard properly in its full glory.  I’ve developed my system over the past 20 years changed equipment and up grading.  The current spec is:-

B & W 804 speakers
Musical Fidelity A308 CD player
Muscial Fidelity A308 Pre amp
Muscial Fideleity 2 x 3.2 power amps
Russ Andrews Power block plus 4 x reference power chords
Chord company Epic super twin speaker cable
Chord compnay 2 x Anthem 2 & 1 x signature interconnects
Sound style rack

It cost alot but worth evey penny as I don’t have a TV and just listen to beats.  And yes I’d love to here Posford do an ambient project with all it’s sublte details.  Can’t up load the pic as it is too big.

I’m using B&W DM602s2 speakers and a Nad home cinema receiver along with a pretty good HTPC. But i will upgrade amp and speakers when i can afford it smile

Bad sound kills good music.

I use to have B & W 602’s when they first came out - good speakers very bass heavy.

After that i got the CDM 7 SE’s which were very nice, with B & W you can’t go wrong. :D

Nothing captures the beauty and depth of Ott like a pair of rich, deep, organic sounding Bose headphones….  :D   :D

One of my hobbies is building audio electronics, so my playback system is being slowly taken over by my own creations…

Recently I find I have been able to connect telepathically to the Twisted Creative Brain, thus ensuring perfect aural sound with no need for silly little silver or black boxes, and those ridiculous big headphones that some people think it is cool to walk the streets wearing.  :D

Im a nut for tube gear, and finely recorded material like we get from TR really makes it shine.  I also love horn loaded speakers, but only with tubes.  One of these days Im going to build a 10W or so single ended triode amp.  I can only imagine how Shpongle sounds through one of those babies.

my setup:
Squeezebox Duet streaming FLAC files
Grant Fidelity A-34 w/ 4x matched Svetlana =C= EL34 and 4x Voskhod 6N1P-EV
Grant Fidelity Tube DAC-09 w/ Western Electric 396A
and a pair of fully restored Klipsch Fortes that have been upgraded with titanium tweeter diaphragms and new crossover networks.

Ive toyed with the idea of selling my speakers and getting a pair of La Scalas or Cornwalls, but I love these Fortes too much.

hey twisted heads, first post here, what up??
just wanted to seek your opinions on the best sound set up I could get for my room for some shpongling. I’m in the USA and on a tight budget so I can’t spend over 500 usd and obviously want to get the best bang for my buck but I am not to familia with speakers and such. any suggestions??

Shpongle goes quite nicely with headphones more than anything else, I feel.
Go for a pair of AKG k701s.

Save the rest of the money for a vinyl system and vinyl copies of the shpongle albums!  grin
