I know this has been mentioned before, but I don’t believe it has been discussed…
The mastering on the Skylon version of Rogue Bagel is absolute crap IMHO.
It sound flat and dull, with no life or punchiness that I so love from Ott.
However, the Twisted Dvd version is absolutely unbelievable.
It’s soooo intense and gorgeously psychedelic.
The song drives me to the brink of ecstasy and send chills down my spine every time.
They are the exact same song! It’s all in how they were processed.
The question here is:
Is the difference in mastering a result of it being played “live” in the dvd version,
or is it the fault of the people who mastered the albums?
If it is infact the engineer’s fault…
It makes me question if the engineering on all of Skylon’s track isn’t that great.
Skylon’s engineering sounds amazing to me with the exception of Rogue Bagel,
but thats only because I have the other version to compare to.
Is it possible that Skylon could have been even more breathtaking with a different mastering engineer?
Any thoughts? Comment?
