... but I haven’t found it in the forums yet.

Who’s voice is it that keeps cropping up in a variety of tracks (Shpongle’s and others’) like ... But Nothing is Lost?

“Nothing lasts, nothing lasts, everything is changing into something else.  Nothing is wrong, nothing is wrong, everything is on track…”

It also shows up 60 seconds into Entheogenic’s Midnight Eyes:
“Shaman in all kinds of places gained their power through relationships with spirits.”

Finally, check out Liquid Sound Design’s compiliation Mana Medicine, in the track by Aushadhi, Grey Beard at 3’42”:

”... where Grey beard… and the sacred vessel ...”

Oops…

Sorry, that was Grey Beard’s track Aushadhi rather than the other way round.

Terrence Mckenna.
A BRILLIANT man.
I can’t really describe him, you’ll just have to experience for yourself.
Start downloading and listening.

He was what you would call a ‘psychedelic prophet’.
And you know…shpongle and entheogenic look up to him…so…shouldn’t we?  rolleyes

Thanks!  I’ve always wondered.  And thanks for the link too.

I saw his name other places on the forums, but didn’t realize that was him on the albums.

Yeah Mckenna has such a unique voice and method of speaking… he could make a speech about the craziest things (aliens, time travel, drugs) and all sorts of people would follow.

I’d agree that McKenna is definitely an interesting speaker.  It’s not the subject, but rather the cadence and tone of his oration that engage.

I met and talked with Timothy Leary at a dinner in Hillsborough twenty some-odd years ago.  I didn’t find him nearly as interesting, though I do like his quote that LSD has the potential side effect of causing psychotic episodes in people who have never taken it.

That’s as true as true can be. It can act as a trigger for latent mental illnesses like schizophrenia. Technically if someone is schizophrenic etc. they may not exhibit symptoms until something in their environment triggers it. Like LSD. And it is conceivable that they might live a normal life without ever being aware of a latent mental illness until the trigger is activated. Bad trip for some people I guess, it isn’t for everyone.

Yeah… I don’t think that’s what TL meant.

He was being rather tongue-in-cheek, implying LSD has an indirect effect of causing psychosis in the general public to the tune of: “Oh my god, people are taking LSD, they can’t do that, it’s the end of the world, I’m freaking out, I’m freaking out, I’m freaking out!”

Anyone know where the quote “The understanding of nature is the understanding of complex, integrated systems” is from?

Hmmmm, he is quite good but he tends to drawl on and use quite a lot of unnecessarily large words. I love what he says though
