i’m looking for a particular track i heard maybe back in jannuary 2000 (maybe a bit later in 2000 but i don’t think it was just a bit earlier in 1999 but not totaly sure )  in a party close to Paris / France.
if i don’t make any mistake, it was an hallucinogen/ simon posford live act.
it was kind of a minimalistic track compared to what simon usualy did with hallucinogen.
at first i thought it could have been the ” mi loony um !” track as i don’t really knwo or remember this track despite i heard it already somewhere but it doesn’t seem to be that unless it really changes later (as the track is cut and you can hear only a part of it on the twisted online webshop) .

the track i talk about had few sounds in it, few real changes in the track structure but was very effective, powerfull and mechanical/ minimalistic.

i don’t recall any voice samples or arpegiated turning sounds , it was not that much like the other tracks he did that are much more representative of the mid 90’s , like say astral projection or those kind of goa trance groups (doof had that kind of sounds as well)  .
this one was a really mechanical / minimalistic sound.
i haven’t seen this track on the website, maybe it was never released and if it’s the case; what a pitty !
i heard it once and never forgot about it (whereas i heard many trance tracks from the very early 90’s to early 2000’s and i was DJ for a while in the ” trance body express ” / french goa connection in france in the early /mid 90’s)

Did you listen to Younger Brother - A Flock of Bleeps? Simon / Benji colab. The trancy tracks on there have that Benji thunk that is similiar to what simon did on mi-loony-um.

i checked the younger brothers tracks on twisted downloads but i don’t think it’s by them.
from what i remember (and i’m about 95 % sure at least , it was a track he played) , it was an hallucinogen live .
i also checked the unreleased twistedtracks cd.
the track i talk about was very much closer to some “minimalistic” techno trance than to the psy trance you ususaly hear with hallucinogen, youger brothers…
also, i don’t remind the kick drum was distorted as simon often does in the hallucinogen tracks (i don’t really like distorted kicks, i prefer the old x-dream /cop natural sh 101 kicks or rounder natural 909 ones or good accoustic ones )
it’s been about 8 years i ask everybody !
nobody seem to know that track but the people i asked to were not at that live act !
i should have asked him ! Damn it !

you say its before year 2000, so that rules out being any of the Metal Sharon tracks that simon wrote with Merv and narrows it down to a handful of tracks- my guess is its an Infernal Machine track maybe the MWNN remix ?

Wasn’t simon involved with The Infinity Project? They made a few tunes early 90s. I can also recommend youtube if you want to browse through tracks without being limited to short samples.

i recall simon posford , during his live act for hallucinogen playing that track (live i suppose , unless he played a DJ set as well but i recall it as the live act ! )  and i was surprised to hear him play such a minimalistic track (but so powerfull !) !
maybe i could find the flyer as i have tons of french goa trance party flyers here !
i just found the 31st december 1999 flyer ( in France, close Paris) but hallucinogen was not programmed nor simon as a DJ and i recall the GMS “star wars” live act (with darth vader laser saber and mask ! LOL ) that was not in the party with hallucinogen live act (the GMS live act was in a huge party with several floor levels) .
at that time i had a small recording studio in the same place Children of Paradise (COP) had their studio (i worked a bit with them that same year
after they released their LP) ,

one thing i recall is that there was this russian group,  ” Parasence ” doing a live act at the same party as the hallucinogen live act , with another russian DJ playing a set from what i remember .
was it a GAIA or Trance Body Express party, i don’t remember (unless it was another association but very few in France were able to have those guys playing for them )  !

i have tons of psychedelic Trance tracks from the very first “Goa Trance ” music recorded from the tapes (tapes that were played on a the sony pro walkman of that era, with a vari speed !)  Serge that was to be later part of Total Ecplise ( Stephan was still working with Juno Reactor but the Total Eclipse band name existed already and i have a few early demos . i think total eclipse was made of some Juno member(s) + stephan )  ,  brought back in France from Goa , given by Goa Gill among other well known DJ’s , the same year (or year before) of the infamous Trance body express party at gif-sur-yvettes (in Kenzo clothes designer ex house , built half on the ground , half on the lake surrounding and with a swimming pool facing the lake !) , vynil records, through the mid and late 90’s DAT tapes and CD’s but i look for this particular track for several years now ! LOL

i checked the infernal machine the loin king MWNN remix but it’s not that track.

i’ve been searching on the web and you tube where i saw a few hallucinogen live acts videos but couldn’t hear that track i look for !
couldn’t find anywhere to listen to “mi loony um ” non cut version either !

the more i check all those hallucinogen videos on you tube and tracks on twisted , the more i wonder if it was a track he did !
cause it was really good and i doubt he wouldn’t have released it when i think about (and knowing he has not released so many tracks under the hallucinogen name ) !
