I’m sad that I couldn’t attend… But Shpongle-vision made my day. Looked like an amazing show, what did others think that saw it through the Roundhouse streaming website?

I saw it and I cried.

Loved the new songs. Sounded more mature and I loved it!

One thing though that I didn’t like, was the quality of the girls vocals. Geez, they destroyed all the songs. My favorite, Around the world in a Tea Daze, damn, they almost made me puke when they did that high pitched part that ends with “Jesus”. That’s what I said when they sang, JESUS! haha.

But I’m very thankfull for Shpongle Vision!

Can’t wait for the new album!

Thanks for a wonderful show! (Watching from Sweden ;p)
Bit of a shame that Roundhouse’s video stream is of such a lousy quality, though :(
I really hope Twisted will release a DVD with the show - I’ll buy it!

First of all just want to say since my first LSD exp. listening to shpongle 1.  I’ve never had music take me to that level of consciousness ever and to have always wanted to see simon/raja ram perform live has been an on going dream of mine since that day, so with that being said thank you soooo much for letting me exp. shpongle live, even though the sound and audio weren’t all that great I def got to take part in something very meaningful to me. I hope shpongle-vision will continue in all of there live shows and hopefully improve the quality of it as well for those of us unfortunate to make it to these live appearances.  Amazing show love the new tracks and the classics with a twist keep it up and god only knows how much I can’t wait for shpongle 4 great job guys keep it up forever!

What a good show! I was at the Roundhouse. It was a bit packed, and the sound really wasn’t that great to me all around, but it was still a fantastic show. The new stuff was great. I hope the live feed was good because I had trouble seeing on account of the massive ogre standing in front of me!
Can’t wait for the DVD!

Haha yeah, the quality of the girls singing kinda ruined most of it, like in dorset perception, around the world in a tea daze, my head feels like a frisbee. But I’m sure it sounded excellent live. I’m curious to hear what star shpongled banner would have sounded like live with the girls singing it.
And I did hear that they are going to be making a dvd of it, and I, of course, will buy it smile
But probably my favorite track of the concert was that one dude on the steal drum thing, then when raja came in with the flute, it was amazing

The live singing was really good at the gig.
Must be the bad sound quality that makes it sound not too good.

Hari Om and Michele Adamson were amazing as usual.

Not in total agreement with that statement. Concert was great for the experience and seeing them live it was fantastic being there. However i was let down with the sound guys. Louder isn’t always better. The levels of the drums and bass sounds were to high so this is where the singers had to adjust and basically shout. So when you raise your voice to sing it doesn’t sound as good. No discredit to the ladies. The band was fantastic. The show was great and awesome. Totally worth travelling for.

This makes sense. Because I was watching it at home and I was like… why does Michele Adamson sound like this?! I know she can sing! Both ladies definitely got very pitchy and even schreechy at times… and the harmony between the two of them sounded awful most of the time. And in the live feed, the vocals sounded higher than everything else (so loud it was even distorted). So it makes sense that if they couldn’t hear themselves singing they’d try to basically shout over everything else. Too bad. I don’t know if it was even noticeable at the venue… did it kind of just blend into the mix and sound alright? I would have been really disappointed if it sounded like that live.

Other than that the instrumentation was amazing. I noticed a couple times when the rhythm sounded a little off here and there, but the songs are so technically demanding, and for a band that has presumably only been practicing together for a few weeks… it was damned impressive. Can’t wait for the DVD! Can anyone that was there that night expand on the after-party? How were the sets, and what were the stand-outs of the rest of the night?

.... oh yeah, one thing that felt quite silly was how the cameramen of Roundhouse kept on zooming in to the samba dancer’s asses. Childish. :?

I loved the night and wouldnt have missed it for anything!! Came from amsterdam just for the gig and I really loved the vibe all around camden cause we met quite a few fellow shponglers… like the norwegian guys that had t-shirts with: “going to shpongle, need weed” on them that we met in the pizza place or the polish guys we met in the inspiral lounge. Really really lovely weekend and i’m damn sure i’ll be there next time too!

I can relate to the comments on the sound quality but I feel it was more roundhouses or the at least the audio guys fault. It was clear that the girls were struggling with the monitoring setup from the begining: they couldn’t hear what they were doing! It was obvious by the way they sang and they kept having to hold their hands against their heads to channel the sound (a singers trick to hear yourself despite crap monitoring). So Simon: fire they audio guys and next time tell the new ones to NOT turn it up to 12 and also plz get the balance right grin Luckily the drummers/perc guys were fabulous, spot on and very very tight.

i really hope they’ll repeat this!!!! I’ll bring more friends too grin

Oh and the queue into the after was way too fucking long and it froze our respective balls and tits off so we flogged our ticks. Couldnt be assed….

Loved all the outfits of all you guys too, whoever you are grin

BYE!
