I remember reading an interview by Posford, years ago, and he mentioned that he was really keen on an experimental jazz duo called Flanger. It was only because of that interview that I started to explore the people involved in that band, and now I’ve discovered heaps of their interesting side projects, including two of my favourite albums of all time (see: Senor Coconut)

So I’m wondering, in 2008, what is tickling the fancies of our favourite Twisted musicians?

Well I can see I’ve sparked quite a lively discussion in here, and I thank everyone for their involvement.

Now on to the next question!

I’m curious what the Twisted artists would recommend on the DARKER side of things…
Not just dark psy-trance or whatever, I’m talking Merzbow and Sunn 0))) dark…
I want paranoid hellscapes from which there are no return!

I’ve always wondered what the Twisted artists could do if they used their amazing production skills to make something truly sick and twisted… so perhaps they could recommend some of their favourite albums in this vein smile

I’ve always been curious about this too and I think there have been previous posts about it but not much of a response.  Flanger is great, I’ve been listening to them for a while.  I wish there would be something on the website showing what some of the Twisted artists are listening to right now, kind of like a “what’s in your CD player” or “what are the 10 most played songs on your ipod” or whatever the silly magazine interviews always ask, very curiuos to see that for Simon, Benji, Raja, any of the Twisted guys.  Kind of doubt this would happen, but I don’t think I’d be the only one interested in seeing that.

I read somewhere on here that Simon opened up a set with Nouvelle Vague’s “The Killing Moon,” and I thought that was really cool to hear.  Something I also had previously, but I’d love to hear more stuff like that.  I’ve never seen them live but my impression is that their live sets typically include only twisted artists so it was nice to hear something outside of their realm.

Well the post is about what music are the TWISTED artists listening to. As the majority of us don’t have that special honour, and most of us don’t know what they listen too it may be hard to join in the discussion :D :D

Actually I was ribbing the Twisted artists themselves! (You’re off the hook, hehe)

I was hoping maybe they’d check this board once every six months or so :(

Simon Posford is apparently listening to Jon Hopkins, who he describes as a mix of classical and glitch
