[quote author=“Spawned”][quote author=“rams”][quote author=“Spawned”][quote author=“Adam Brown”]Spiro has confirmed it is outdoors (or at least he has said as much on the forums)

thanks for the update smile

if it’s just mentioned by a promoter on forums then I wouldn’t say it’s confirmed as outdoors yet. lots of things are promised on a forum and never delivered. I hope it’s outdoors, if it ends up indoors it will be a real shame.

for the sake of $10 between early bird & full price tickets I’d still wait and see…

I wouldn’t hold out too long - Early birds have already sold out and I can’t imagine the remainder will take too long. Best be safe than sorry.

I agree, best be safe than sorry… but I’d rather know where it is than be sorry I bought a ticket for a poor venue. I see now that it’s supposed to be 5000 person event in Melbourne so I think there’ll be a little bit of time to buy tickets still. Any other ideas on the venue?

It is going to be at Shed 4 - Docklands… seriously though I would see Shpongle Live in any location or venue given the chance.

Shpongle in a tin shed!! No!!!!!! Can you imagine how poor the acoustics will be?

And on the Monday now, that’s a shame. Had planned to do Shpongle then Maitreya, we’ll still be at Maitreya on the Monday…
Pass :(

I heard it’s now moved to June. So Shpongle indoors, in a freezing tin shed in winter. Crap.

After Earthcore’s performance on the weekend with 30 or so of the 45 internationals cancelling at the last minute I wouldn’t be surprised if Shpongle didn’t go ahead at all. Hopefully someone else does it, and properly.

Hi,

Can someone from Twisted please confirm if Shpongle will infact be playing Live in Australia next year? There is a lot of rumor/speculation and consipracy theories at the moment regarding the promoter that is advertising this show.

If someone could confirm that the show will be on it would calm my nerves raspberry raspberry   raspberry raspberry

Spiro just canceled the gig until further notice (Just received a message from Facebook)

I knew this gig was too important to be left in Earthcore’s hands

Typical. I just saw a message on Facebook saying they were trying to negotiate for it to happen in June.

I really hope Simon & Raj realise that working with Earthcore is a huge mistake after all the problems artists had at the November Festival - failing to pay deposits, offering reduced fees, threats when artists declined to pay for 20% of the agreed fees & then failing to pay artists that did turn up!!

I think this latest message is just a ploy to stall people asking for refunds because Spiro spent the ‘early bird’ ticket money already.

Please Shpongle - don’t work with Earthcore & don’t play at Shed 4!

Yeah, pretty sure from reliable sources that all the Shpongle early bird ticket money was spent on floating Earthcore Festival and now they’re in strife because they don’t have money to refund tickets.

Because we never received tickets, me and mates have done credit card transaction disputes through our banks. It means we get our money back & the banks chase Spiro/Earthcore for the money.

I suggest anyone who has tickets does the same thing or you’ll never see a cent back.

Sure is… And now this comes from Spiro Boursine of Earthcore / Dance Aid so people can not get refunds:

“Dear all

We have recently had our Shpongle tour canceled and have been slandered by the tour agent Simon Holton and co agent Ron Rilvin.

In a recent press release from him he stated

"It was agreed that no promotion would take place prior to deposit"

In another public statement co agent Ron Rilvin stated

"The Shpongle tour was canceled two weeks ago"

Both comments are false and was not agreed upon on our contractual agreement and nor via email correspondence between all
parties involved.

Please see contract attached as proof that Simon’s comments are false and misleading.

We are now in the process of commencing litigation against Simon Holton from Twisted Records and Ron Rilvin from Coast to
Coast for damages caused to our company.

Earthcore has been instructed to cease all trading until litigation has been commenced upon various parties and a outcome has
been made.

We will keep you posted.

Earthcore HQ”

OK, I know people are feeling ripped off due to the cancellation. There is nothing to be gained by fueling the situation here in this forum, after all, the promoter has put both the band and the wider community in a highly compromised position.

Energy is better spent by lodging a complaint with the Victorian Dept of Consumer Affairs. They are very interested in this case already. No organisation has the right to defy consumers rights in such a brazen and calculated manner. Nor does a self-imposed insolvency sanction an embargo on creditor assets.

There is no point in publicly waving veiled threats and retorts from either party. We all know the lengths to which mis-information and prejudice can lead to making the wrong choices, heck, I bought a ticket in the first place. I will take every opportunity known to humans to receive full and proper compensation from the promoter

Of course we will mourn the lack of live Shpongle in our lives… but lets be mature and deal with this in a way that will bring justice to those who deserve it and peace to the shifting sands of Shpongleland!
