Where/how does Simon get his voice samples? I’m talking about the wonderful phrases like “This is a circular vortex, spinning, spinning..” etc.

Are they all recored primarily or taken from different apects of media, like films?

I believe the sample you mention (“This is a circular vortex, spinning, spinning..”) was created especially for the album, the vast majority are taken from TV and moves though.

i love posford’s choice of kooky vocal samples so much, it’s one of the best bits of a new posford album I reckon. They’re always so spaced-out and funny, perfect for “those moments”

I can’t wait to hear what he does with the new Hallucinogen cd, it’ll be epic I reckon!

Source of samples??

Agree, the samples are always brilliantly done.  One fo my fav’s is from Shpongle eyes on the second album which is from a favorite film of mine from the 1950’s the ‘Forbidden planet’, (suprised it hasn’t been remade yet but I hope not!!)

As the space ship lands and the crew get out, in the distance a robot approaches them on a cool buggy, the famous ‘Robby the Robot’.  Robby get’s out to greet them and the captain say’s:-

‘excuse me but this is no offense but err, you are a robot aren’t you?’

Robby replies (which is not on the track) ‘that is correct’.

The great thing is that it doesn’t sound that the sample has had any effects added to it.

Can anyone give sources of other Posford/Twisted artist samples???

Here’s a question for everyone, what do the words say at the start of Turn Up The Silence?

I think he uses Terence Mckenna lecture samples quite a bit….

It’s amazing what Google can turn up:

What a wicked link, looks like thats the rest of the day taken up.

I have quite a few of MckKenna’s talks and originally got mine off Soulseek but I haven’t used it for along time.

Another great site which sells stuff from Timothy Leary, John C Lilly and more is:-

www.photosynthesis.com

Loads on there….

Yeah, one would hope. But ive seen him, 6 women at a time. I guess he wins them all over with all those face melting guitar solos he does.

Man, i wish i was Simon Postford.
