[quote author=“madox”]I’m actually how he get’s his copy-right permission to sameple what he does; after all, some sort of royalty fee has to be paid.
Maybe Simon doesn’t bother; but that would put him at risk for lawsuits
Or, perhaps, he does get sampling permission?
Or, perhaps, in the UK, copy-rights don’t apply?
I dunno.
Personally kinda curious.
First Post! :D
Yes, this question has also puzzled me for some time… Do all these producers actually obtain permission ?? I seriously doubt it… Is it only if it’s a top 40 hit that anyone bothers? Enquiring minds want to know..
Strictly, it is illegal to the best of my knowledge, unless you get clearance from the copyright holder… but I don’t think they (Posford and others) bother.. As I said, unless it’s a big hit.. pretty unlikely in this genre.. surely no one notices.. but I thought pressing plants/etc. could be funny about it..
As a part-time producer I’m interested to know what artists like those on the Twisted roster do.. or indeed how Twisted handle it?
Any info much appreciated!
