This program kicks arse, it is the best modular software package for odd and unusual synthesis (except maybe Max/Msp) that there is, have been using it at uni all year, you can make some crazy, crazy FM synth stuff in there :D

Reaktor is definately a program you need the manual for. I remember when I first bought it I was like “what the hell?” after installing it and ended up spending several hours with the manual doing the basic synth creation exercises and such before I was able to really use it. Even to this day I’ve barely touched the surface of what it can do, but I agree that it’s a monster.

ABsolutely kick ass piece of kit… for its one of very few that actually sound as warm as hardware.

I find it easiest not to bother with the synth creation side of it but just to steal the different premade modules from the presets and piece them together in my own ensemble…

very creative…  wink

Reaktor is amazing if you like building your own stuff.
I especially enjoy all the sample-manipulation capabilities, you can make some truly organic sound and synth using this.

It’s hard to explain, just try it!  :D

The sampler modules especially the grainlar one is pretty incredible really brings new things to play with like grainular modulating the ‘standard’ waveform oscillators and the filters. The filter FM being modulated by a grained up drumbeat is just nuts.
