Well we’re obviously very bored here since there’s nothing going on and we’ve resorted to wondering what kind of drugs Simon uses and how much money he has.  So just thought I’d ask – favorite younger brother track?

Mine would be Weird on A Monday Night and Scanner.  WoAMN for the spaciness, the Alice in Wonderland samples, and those orchestra hits towards the end that sound like they’re out of a 90’s sci-fi movie.  Scanner for the panning sounds at the beginning, that bass kick, and the melody throughout.

Tough question so I’ll take the easy way out.

The entire first album rocks hard. From Weird on a Monday Night all the way through Magic Monkey Juice is just wonderful. The last 3 are okay, but the first 7 are amazing.

If I HAD to pick, I’d go with Weird on a Monday Night but there are a couple others that may overtake it with a little more time.

Off the second album, I can say Elephant Machine is my favorite.

I’d probably say Weird On A Monday Night and Evil & Harm off of Flock of Bleeps, also possibly Bedtime Story, not so much as a favorite track, but it fits perfectly with my mood by the end of the album, which is like wow what a trip.

From Last Days of Gravity, I’d say Elephant Machine and All I Want (except for the ending, could’ve done without that bit  )

From the first:
Evil & Harm (looove those bleep effects in the vocal)
Crumblenaut (looove the drum beat, hate that goofy vocal though)

  From the second:
Your Friends Are Scary (beginning makes me feel like on an acid trip’s peak grin)
Sleepwalker Part 2 (makes me yearn to take a car ride at night while baked)
I am a Freak (for all it’s psychedelic vigour)

Because the tryptamine shape-shifting entities are creating things with vibrations, I am convinced that there is no other explanation than that they are highly advanced beings trying to teach humans how the so-called “string theory” constructs reality.

Crumblenaut from the first album (there’s that Shpongled vocoder bit in the middle… gets me every time!)

I Am A Freak from the second one! That twisted female vocal is INSANE!

Tough choice indeed.

Would have to go with:
I Am a Freak
Happy Pills
and Crumblenaut

Oh, and Bedtime Story, for sure!

I’ll go with the less instrumental thus more electronic tracks Scanner and Dwarves as my faves. 8)
Weird on a Monday Night is awsum too.

The second album never got into heavy rotation like the first one did, even though I enjoy it every time i listen to it. I’m thrilled to hear what YB will have evolved to with their third album.

I am a freak
Crumblenaut
Weird On A Monday Night
Scanner
Evil and Harm

In no particular order…

BUT - I must say, benji’s DJ of I am a freak (only YB I’ve heard Live) was extremely awesome to my brain. maybe awesomest of them all. Maybe.
