Alright, so I live in Canada, right? So nothing Twisted really comes this way, and its really hard to find any merch. I didn’t want to buy from the site because shipping from the UK to Canada would be too much for my wallet to handle
. So what I decided to do was make the Shpongle mask myself!
This was made using Plaster Strips, and used a plastic facial mold as the base for the face. Originally the mouth was closed on the mold, but I modded the plaster mold afterwards by cutting the mouth and elongating it to form the open mouth. Same with the extra eyes. The Crest was made using wire for structure, and then plastered over. Each of the beard pieces was outlined using wire, and then plastered over.
The paint was a mix of white, red, and blue. These are earlier pictures, as I later drybrushed it with white to make it brighter and lighter. Each piece of the beard was brushed with blue watercolor to accent shadow, as was the inbetween of the wisps.
It’s more of a ornament than an actual mask, but I can always cut out the back and double it as a mask (though its maybe a little too fragile for that).
