Wow where to start on this trip to epileptic hell with horrible sound.  The lights were bad.  It was a bunko cross of a wannabe squarepusher strobe presentation, and a foul STS9 show.  The show at Irving was way better.  Shpongle without video sucks.  There was nothing to focus on visually besides the flashing and moving lights “scanning” or rather “blinding” the audience so that you couldn’t see the dancers.  The sound was completely f#$

lol that’s actually my youtube account and videos.  I enjoyed the show, I’m sorry you didn’t.  I thought the lights were great and from comments I’ve seen on phantasy tour and from people I talked to at the show most agreed with me.  I had no problems seeing the dancers.  I was actually expecting a poor lighting setup just due to the fact that it’s the Masquerade and the stage isn’t very big.  As for not having video screens, that may have also been a result of the stage size and out of Simon’s control.  My friend who went to the Asheville show as well said the lack of video was compensated with more dancers.  The sound would also be due to the venue’s rig, so with your complaints I don’t see how you can claim “posford can just take a mega ultra super shi**y dump on the south,” it’s not like he performed worse than any of the other shows on the tour.  If most people there enjoyed the show and you didn’t, maybe that is a problem with you and not the show?

This was my first Shpongle show an I had the time of my life. The only -bad- part is it started late and the previous guy was bad local d&b artist. It actually pleases me to hear that it was ‘ow qualityy’ in comparison to other shows (barring the ones with Raja) as this will definately not be the last that I attend.

I think Simon actually came on a few minutes early, he was supposed to start at 12:30.  Only major schedule change was Evol Intent was supposed to be before Eskmo.

I was virtually sober and so was my buddy who I went with.  One of the first things I said when we walked in was that the lighting rig looked great.  If this was a “bad” Shpongle show, I honestly couldn’t care less because I enjoyed the show.  I don’t see how a show could be musically better either when it’s virtually the same every show.

I’m glad that you liked the show.  The way that the Dj’ing can be different is the way that the cd’s are mixed and how and when some of the cdj tricks are used.  Simon’s Dj’ing isn’t really my complaint…what I am complaining about is the way that the board was setup for the room mix, the lack of video, the ridiculous amount of blinding audience scanning by the ld coupled with the cheesy use of the strobing led parcans(yes those were parcans).  I’m only complaining about things that the artist is responsible for, either directly or indirectly(the artist hires the production crew and tells them what they want in their production- a ryder).  The reason I complain is that other shpongle shows have the levels mixed correctly for the venue, and the visual aspect of the shows is usually on point; Atlanta had neither.  I would say that the lack of good lighting it’s cause of the lack of Ram, but that doesn’t explain the Irving show…pure and simple the south got a crappy light show, and crappy sound: not shpongle style at all :(

You know what, I had an amazing time at this show! I thought Simon spun an awesome set. Most of my favs were played. Even a few of my favorite younger brother tracks made an appearance. I’ve seen tons of shows at the Masquerade so I know what to expect of their sound system. Personally, I could think of many other better venues to have this show at, but oh well. For someone who has limited means of traveling all over to see Simon or Shpongle, I was just happy to have this event in my home town and ecstatic to hear some of my all time favorite songs spun by the master himself!
