Hello all, I got to see Shpongle in Austin! It was a bad ass show!! The best show I’ve ever seen, and it was cool seeing they came there first too! I saw Ott twice in Austin, it was sweeet lol, the second time i got a lil too excited—but hey, I got to talk with Ott for a few minutes, it was really cool.

I’ve been making music for awhile and just finished a ‘literally’ 8 year long song—It really should rock everyone’s clothes off. (really) if you were to check it out , i would really appreciate it, its called:

“the entry” it runs (4:40)

Hey Ryan, sorry I didn’t reply earlier.

You should really fix the link you provided as instead of the [dot] you put a [comma]
In other words…

www [dot]soundclick[comma] com = broken link.

Anyway, awesome track… I really like the sounds and the flow but I don’t think this an 8 year long track…

The mixing and mastering could use another look as some of the layers are not clear enough sometimes and just in general try to get the “crispy” out of the sound as it feels that higher frequencies are being cut out. Also a proper intro would be suited as well.

Good job anyhow and keep it up. You definitely have the potential to get a lot better!

Keep it up! Cheers!

thanks for the feedback. I just use Fruity loops :(, I sequence notes and everything together using piano rolls and synths and efects, so my songs are patterns within patterns to make agiant pattern, ive been using it for quite awhile—never was able to afford any basic or better equipment to teach myself. The song has been with me awhile i just have never got around to working on it.. finally did, it was a pain cuz the main effect distorts everything else so i had to work with it.

thanks for checking my music man, it means a lot to me, really

Checked the track also… it’s pretty good, but Fruity Loops wont ever give you the mastering you need. It seems you are young from your pic in the link, so 8 years making for the track makes sense. I say by all means keep with it, you definitely have imagination and the talent will shine as you procure better software. Cheers.

Totally disagree on the Fruity Loops point. If you know how to use FL and you know how to mix in FL the quality of the production will be fine, in fact very comparable to other software such as Cubase and Ableton. It is very amateur to blame the software you

I was just assuming I suppose. I haven’t/don’t produce music so I really wasn’t qualified to make the statement that Fruity Loops was to blame for the scratchiness I would blame on mastering. Anyway, really just wanted to make the point that the track shows skill and imagination, and wish the best.

Thanks, I was born with an imagination and musical talent, musical ear, whatever i can call it—but i dont play an instrument. im just really good as designing music, or producing it.

8 years about on FL—i use no instruments attached but the built in synths and sequence the keys and notes to my fitting, and i mold the synths and the effects to how i want it, then lay it all out on the playlist editor. you tell me how to make perfect bases, and perfect sounds that goe together—perfect panning of basses, then let me know.

controlling bass, and the sound quality is my hardest issue. im saving up for some actual physical synths and instruments, see what happens.

thanks for everything

Mixing is indeed hard, although you don’t have to have everything perfect to get it sounding good together. Sound quality is reliant on the sound card mostly… maybe that is your issue :S I can’t imagine spending 8 years in making music and still have issues with mixing and producing.

Seriously.. take another look at your audio setup. I’m quite sure it’s your sound card causing the issue then.

All the Best, Uth

Cheers!
