enjoying the controversy but i can promise you that are motives are simple….make music that we enjoy and attempt to inspire ourselves in the studio—- this usually means trying to keep moving forward ....as we change what inspires us changes, we loose fans ,we gain fans but ultimately we have to like it

Perfect words from the master himself.
It’s all about finding what you love, and sharing it with the world.
Some will connect with it, others won’t.

TBH, I’m extremely excited for this album and will be first in line to buy it.
I just question how it will stack up to previous works.
I apologize if my comments came out as harsh or negative.
I don’t want to come across as saying that “younger Brother is dead”. It’s not.
It’s simply growing and branching out in a new direction.
Some of us “hard-headed oldschoolist” are just having a hard time adjusting.  wink

Thanks for all that you do Benji. It’s inspiring.

If guys from YB have chosen this direction this is their own right, they do not have to care about amount of their fans. First of all they play for pleasure and it makes this music so nice and pure.
What is wrong with the desire to earn money from live performances? They spend much on expensive equipment in order to make it possible to get this high quality sound.
Long live YB! I am sure you still have a lot to say to the world.

Yeah f***ing right. Nothing wrong with the direction and being more band orientated. Do whatever it is you feel like. Have fun and enjoy the times you have. If you just so happen to make some pocket money from it. Well awesome for you guys. You deserve some retroactively imo.
Looking forward to the new album(there had better be some Floydie type sound in at least one track)

Correct

TBH, I’m extremely excited for this album and will be first in line to buy it.

Not before me doooooode hahahahaha

I just question how it will stack up to previous works.

Don’t compare it, just go with how it makes you feel at the particular moment you listen to it.

I apologize if my comments came out as harsh or negative.

You better be grovelling cheese  cheese

Well don’t worry “oldschoolie” I’m sure you’ll enjoy the new album and will be kicking yourself for the nasty comments you made against YB. We all read them so don’t think you can get away with it hahahaha.

Thanks for all that you do Benji. It’s inspiring.

And the rest of the band.

Why would they want to be like pink floyd though or even their music? To me their is only one pink floyd and only one younger brother stick to your own music and don’t copy or imitate others? If people wanted to hear pink floyd whatnot then they should listen to them. If they wanted to hear YB then listen to them you know? Britney Spears isn’t trying to copy Shpongle’s style because thats his music style and Britney has got hers vice versa.

I’ll race ya.
(not counting the fact that you live closer to Twisted HQ than I…)

Don’t compare it, just go with how it makes you feel at the particular moment you listen to it.

Misworded myself here (again). Meant to say.
“I’m not sure I will connect with this as much as your previous works”

You better be grovelling

Absolutely.  LOL
I’ve realized the error of my ways.
All I Want is Younger Brother’s forgiveness.
Maybe then…the sleepless nights will go away

I’m sure you’ll enjoy the new album and will be kicking yourself for the nasty comments you made against YB.

Will you do it for me?

We all read them so don’t think you can get away with it hahahaha.

I still stand by this initial impression.
but, I’m more than prepared to eat my words once the album is released.  wink

BTW Dimu, only 17 posts left until the big “1K”.
How shall we celebrate?

I dunno. I have to get a hurry on as wiccita wonka is catching up with all the shongGabble that is being written. I was thinking of going to a Shpongle gig in October. I also have been wanting to compose a deep meaningful post for the 1000th. Just have to think of some shit.

soulful, beautiful and intricate… that’s what I like about them too wink cloudwalker, if that’s what you like, i think you would really really enjoy the new stuff. psychic gibbon was like the next generation bedtime story.

Cloudwalker - 26 July 2009 10:21 AM

My argument is that YB is now catering to a mainstream “pop-rock-party” crowd.
For me, it’s affecting the intricate depth and “soulful-quality” of their music.
The live shows just seem to be feeding into this mantra.

I don’t think we’ll EVER hear a song as beautiful and delicate as Bedtime Story from YB ever again…

Again, these are just my thoughts as I’m hearing the new material.
I could be (and hope I am) completely wrong once we get the hear the actual album…

Hey all,

I saw YB play at Camp Bisco, after un utterly immemorable 2 hours of Shpongle/YB/Prometheus set the friday night I really hoped I had not wasted my cash and time to drive down from Canada for this.

Boy was it worth it, It was fantastic to see song I know well played live, a couple tracks I did not recognise (Safety in numbers/multiplying) were absolutely phenomenal. Brownies bass was amazing, I have never heard such a hard synthbass sound form a real bass!

After many years of worshipping at the alter of electronic music I was really surprised by how much a live band could rock (in the electronic sense - I saw Neil Young last year and yes - he did also rock;)

Pity about the friday set though - The americans dont really seem to understand the best music is always played around sunrise - so the set was from 10 pm to about 1 am at which time the whole place closed down for the night (although quite abit of fun was to be had watching the locals- rather a cazy bunch and WAY more diverse than I am used to regular parties - quite a few j-roc types too)

I can not wait for the new album - and yes GO SEE THEM LIVE - if only to see Benjie blow his Kazoo smile

Cheers

BMF

I hope that Younger Brother is a place where Simon and Benji can vent some creative, not so trance inspired ideas, and then return to their single projects and create some kick-ass trance music for the “old fans”.

Im probably still one of the first to buy your new material though….. hmmm
