Hey all,
I saw YB play at Camp Bisco, after un utterly immemorable 2 hours of Shpongle/YB/Prometheus set the friday night I really hoped I had not wasted my cash and time to drive down from Canada for this.
Boy was it worth it, It was fantastic to see song I know well played live, a couple tracks I did not recognise (Safety in numbers/multiplying) were absolutely phenomenal. Brownies bass was amazing, I have never heard such a hard synthbass sound form a real bass!
After many years of worshipping at the alter of electronic music I was really surprised by how much a live band could rock (in the electronic sense - I saw Neil Young last year and yes - he did also rock;)
Pity about the friday set though - The americans dont really seem to understand the best music is always played around sunrise - so the set was from 10 pm to about 1 am at which time the whole place closed down for the night (although quite abit of fun was to be had watching the locals- rather a cazy bunch and WAY more diverse than I am used to regular parties - quite a few j-roc types too)
I can not wait for the new album - and yes GO SEE THEM LIVE - if only to see Benjie blow his Kazoo
Cheers
BMF
