I remember once finding the movie on IMDB, only to find out that it hadn’t been released yet, it wasn’t yet done when it was supposed to premiere at Cannes. Last time I recognized it because IMDB said that the movie was supposed to premiere at Cannes.

When I search for the movie now, there are a lot of hits on ‘Heartless’ but I can’t see which one ‘it’ is. No of them mentions Cannes anymore, it seems.

I just found a review of the film linked above and it says:

‘The turgid rock soundtrack, performed by the director’s own band with vocals by himself, is an awful vanity project that shouldn’t have got anywhere near the film, and reinforces the impression of a self-important director blind to his own failings.’

from this page:
http://www.quietearth.us/articles/2009/09/07/FRIGHTFEST-09-Review-of-Philip-Ridleys-HEARTLESS

So it doesn’t sound like it’s Younger Brother on that film.

It’s been a while since I’ve believed in any critic’s review of anything…so I’ll wait until seeing the movie to make any comment concerning it’s soundtrack.

I would assume that he’s got the facts correct though, ‘performed by the director’s own band with vocals by himself’ suggests it’s not Younger Brother.

I would assume that he’s got the facts correct though, ‘performed by the director’s own band with vocals by himself’ suggests it’s not Younger Brother.

Read the comments below the review

it was not the directors own band who performed the songs, and it weren’t was it the director who sang the songs. The director merely wrote the words.

This was from another comment

I also thought the soundtrack worked well and set the tone.

The film itself got some very mixed reviews.

I didn’t read that far down. red face So the music is written by Younger Brother then?

I read elsewhere that the lead actor was singing on a couple of tracks.
