The Finger, by Younger Brother
and probably the first psytrance song I ever heard which led me into the whole scene.
found it to be full of energy and ‘mystical’
First Shpongle song I heard was Divine Moments of Truth, in that video/animation ‘Flashback’
Dorset Perception from Sasha’s Invol2ver… fast-paced, magical track with an ethnic vibe. Loved the name Shpongle so searched for them, and never looked back since!
First heard The Herb Garden, which I know isn’t Shpongle, but it’s the song that got me into it and eventually ended up going out and buying Nothing Lasts…
So the first actual Shpongle song I heard would be Botanical Dimensions. I then proceeded to buy every other Shpongle album, and am now working on purchasing other Twisted releases.
First Younger Brother song was probably All I Want or Psychic Gibbon, I am pretty new to YB, but enjoy what I have heard immensely.
I know this isn’t Shpongle or Younger Brother either but I just had to recall the moment I became a twisted convert.
A mate and I used collect obscure music and get shpongled and take our headphones and portable CD player out in the bush.
The first track we heard was “Shamanix” and I have been waiting with anticipation for every Simon Posford album since then.
first exposure to shpongle was danny gomez’ animation using “Divine Moments Of Truth” as the soundtrack, probobly about 8 years ago…. (?)

i was blown away, speachless. searched for and found out who did the music, then searched for and purchased every note they had for sale, and then sought out hallucinogen as well. cant wait for the new album, hope they tour the USA
My first was Monster Hit… the water sounds just amazed me. Back then i had Are You Shpongled, and only listened to Monster Hit until i heard Divine Moments Of Truth. When I had acquired Tales, it instantly became the best music id ever heard. Now I listen to at least one shpongle album a day, usually Nothing Lasts right after school, then Are You Shpongled before I went to bed.
“Rumours of Vapours” on TIPs “Infinite Excursions” in 1996 also had me completely hooked the first time I heard it! Back then I thought “Shpongle” was just a crazy one-off from Simon and Raja, and didn’t really expect there’d be any more.
Then there was “Infinite Excursions 2” the next year, and I was extremely happy there was another weird and wonderful Shpongle track, “Behind Closed Eyelids”. The “Eclipse” compilation in ‘98 cemented the deal with “...and the day turned to night” and officially made Shpongle my favourite band
Then later in 98 came “Are you shpongled” and the rest, as they say, is history.
