i was blown away, speachless. searched for and found out who did the music, then searched for and purchased every note they had for sale, and then sought out hallucinogen as well. cant wait for the new album, hope they tour the USA
This is my exact experience, minus the investigation and the buying of the music.
It was my second time ever taking psilocybin and my mind totally exploded. I think I was a junior in high school maybe, 2002 if my memory serves me.
The fly buzzing at the beginning was starting the give me a panic attack or something, but as soon as DMT kicked in I felt like I had nothing to worry about nor would I for what seemed like eternity.
Evil & Harm. Loved it the first time I heard it and it’s the only good Younger Brother track. I’m talking about the full version released on Destination Goa 9, not the short album version.
I got my first psychedelic cd in 2000, called Demented. A new era started with it.
So my first Shpongle was Divine Moments Of Truth (Remix), and my first Younger Brother was Evil And Harm.
Both were love at first listen
It was The Herb Garden, does that one count as a Shpongle song too? :D Because on MOTY2 it is named as a Hallucinogen song.
Well the first real Shpongle song I heard van Divine Moments of Truth if I remember well, with Danny Gomez’s video Flashback! I never saw anything like that before, it was one of the first days I got into electronic, psychedelic music, amazing!
These 2 songs are still one of my favourite songs!
The first Younger Brother track I heard was Happy Pills… I think.
I’ve never really been into Younger Brother, but I bought a Flock of Bleeps yesterday, I’m very curious! (I think I need to wait 3 weeks until it’s in my letter box…)
I first heard Divine Moments of Truth and from then on my entire music selection radically transformed as well as my views on life and what I wanted to get out of life. Really amazing song but electrobot, ...And the Day Turned to Night must have been an intense first Shpongle song. That is probably my favorite song ever across all genres of music. It makes me feel like it slowly deconstructs my mind and reconstructs over a span of 20 minutes. It’s like my mind defragmenter lol. Much thanks to all the Twisted artists for having such a powerful and positive impact on my life!
i was using another music related forum, setup for the fans of the band Tool. I was recommended shpongle. a fan of “electronic type stuff” and anything with a psychedelic kick. Dare i say i used a file sharing prog to download Divine Moments of Truth.
The song washed over me, i cant remember my first listen, but for a few months it was the only shpongle i listened to. It had everything i wanted in music. It tells a story, and with every listen it grows.
A friend of mine recommended Schpongle to me when I was about fourteen or fifteen, I was mostly into IDM and psytrance and hadn’t really discovered any good dub or ambient yet. The first track I heard was “The Messenger”, which I downloaded off soulseek and only later found out was an old track by a now extinct group named J
It was a messy night in a tipi at End of the Road Festival UK and must have been on Are you Shpongled cause my friend lent me the cd i had heard the night before that i was like “dude what the fuck was that last night lets play it in the car on the way home”
Similar with Younger Brother and Last days of gravity someone played me All I Want and I almost had a fit.
Pretty sure the first shpongle song I heard was around the world in a tea daze. Fucking BLEW my mind. First YB track was… All I Want maybe? Don’t ask me how, but I didn’t discover Shpongle/YB till earlier in the year =X
EDIT: Actually I take that back! I remember once upon the sea of blissful awareness was in a WoW video I watched like 5 years ago lol. I remember being amazed by it, and listened to the song a whole lot. For some reason I never did check out the rest of shpongle until early this year!
