Hey, was anyone else there for Ott’s Ozora wind-down set? Was absolutely amazing and completely made the festival for me. I was just wondering if anyone was in a fit state to verify the appearance of several new songs? From what i could make out there were a fair few, and ever single one of them f**cking rocked. Awesome 4 hour (!!!) set mixing in a whole load of old dub stuff and finishing on a madness song haha, brilliant.

Whilst im here also i have a bit of blasphemy to spread… Whilst Shponle live on the main stage was a beautiful and awesome show too, i was literally almost cringing at times to the vocal melodies on some of the new material, sounded damn cheeeesy… i had high hopes but now im a little scared…. please forgiive me..
Thoughts?

On Ott or on Shpongle? =)

I must confess I didn’t listen Ott…I was too tired, and begging for a moment of rest away from either chill or main stage.
=/
I agree that Shpongle was beautiful, but I don’t know what part of which track did you found to be cheesy…?

I didn’t found any cheese in their gig, but hey, it’s a matter of taste. =)

Really? you rekon theres absolutely no crossover between “musicality” and cheese?! i find this a little hard to fathom. what if you found that, damn, that new Sphongle vocal IS cheesy? i dont think you can make it so black and white, thus i didnt say it sounded bad as a song, or the show sucked because of it, simply that some of the vocals sounded cheesy..

so basically youre telling me, that by saying that new shpongle vocals sounded cheesy,
im actually saying “new shpongle doesnt sound abstract enough”.
right…
which is pretty much what i was saying; new shpongle vocals seemed to detract from the
sound as a whole because they werent abstract enough….. ooor, they were too cheesy.?
