I’ve been going through the music of Shpongle, Ott and the others on this website

I have to say

Out of all the psytrance I’ve listened to, all of your music seems to encompass the spiritual aspect of things. This gets left out a lot in music from GMS and others which have gotten me addicted to psytrance. Now I am a full on junkie =]

Truely amazing music and I have immense respect for your music styles and your work.

Ditto, these guys deserve a lot of respect for the wicked music that they produce. They may be really slow to release new tunes but when they do it’s all good, every song on every album, period, IMHO. I’ve been hooked ever since the mid 90’s when Simon put out the Hallucinogen albums. I wish more artists had the talent and uniqueness that Simon, Benji, Raja and Ott have. Good music has character and movement and most Psytrance and Electronica nowadays lacks both in my opinion. To much repetitive lameness if you know what I mean.  : )

When you say Shpongle and Ott in the same sentence as “Psytrance”, I get a little confused…
Are you referring to “psychedelic electronic” in general, or actual “Psychedelic Trance”
Ott is very much NOT trance music, though Prometheus and Hallucinogen would fit that category.

Also, if you want some good “non-twisted” artists, check out Bluetech and Androcell.

Highly subjective, but I suppose you would classify Twisted artists like this:

Hallucinogen, Prometheus, KoxBox = Psytrance
Shpongle, Younger Brother = Psychill
Ott = Psydub

All of them are cross-genre though…

Twisted = Good music.

That is simple enough

I’d agree with CW mostly, although my true feelings are that Shpongle/YB are their own genre.

The only thing is, I wish we could leave that goofy ‘psy’ prefix out of it..
