Do I really have to spell everything out and reiterate for you guys?

No.

So just stop posting things we don’t want to read.

No, we’re not as stupid as you believe us to be.

Just posting to say the new album is amazing I got a copy of the 320kbps release of it (Sorry! I’m weak willed) and it sounds just fine to me both music wise and sound quality, I pre-ordered a copy of it just now actually.  From start to finish I enjoyed every moment of it, good stuff!

Side-Note: I saw ya live at Underground Sound 4 last August (2008) in Southern Illinois, Simon.  Fuckin great show man I pretty much stayed up the entire time that your set was going on it was great thanks for the good times.

are you going on a great tangent that has no logical place in the discussion?

Checked the thread title lately?

Simon, gutted to read that this leak has upset you so much, but I honestly don’t think you have much to worry about. Yeah, the person who uploaded this is an absolute twat I agree, but I don’t think it will alter your sales much. As other people have mentioned, just about every album gets leaked before its released these days. However, Shpongle isn’t just some crappy pop band where its doesn’t really whether you’ve got some lousy mp3 copies or the actual album.
There’s really something quite special about buying a new shpongle album and I think that every single fan out there who has gone out an bought a shpongle album would testify to this. Shpongle are also at the peak of their popularity at the moment, they’ve gone way beyond the psy scene and I know many people who don’t even like electronica but love shpongle… Judging from my own experience of the new album (the tunes played at last year’s show and the samples), this release is only going to amplify this 100 fold. Most of the people who go the roundhouse show will buy the record there and then and from then on in it’s only a matter of letting reviews etc to spread like wildfire and I can pretty much guarantee you that all the time and effort spent on this album would not have been wasted smile

Anyway, best of luck with it all, not that you really need it wink Don’t get too pissed at the leak just yet, just sit tight for another couple of weeks and enjoy its proper reception at the roundhouse and the weeks to follow!!

Simon, just wanted to let you know that I up and ordered Ineffable Mysteries today. Some may say that the only way to show support is through your wallet and I believe that is true for many situations in life.

Also, I am a curious about how you can do shows/dj sets and yet have the label do so poorly as you say it is doing. Granted, I don’t think they have a direct correlation between each other; but people must buy Twisted/Shpongle merchandise at the shows along with paying just to be there. If Twisted is doing so horrible, then would it not be feasible to do shows that don’t directly help out the label in some way? Or am I way off in this assessment?

Back to impressions and reviews… At first I thought the album was just okay. Good by general standards but not so great by Shpongle standards. Then I listened to it all last night and it was great. Forgot to turn it off and woke up this morning to Ineffable Mysteries… what a treat. Much better than bacon and eggs in the morning. Then I went on to listen to the album all day. I thought I should probably change it up and listen to a different album, but I’ve just enjoyed it so much I couldn’t stop. Still listening to it as I type.

The whole album is amazing, front to back. The wonderful flute on No Turn Unstoned, the chilling intro on Walking Backwards Through The Cosmic Mirror, a couple laughs on I Am You… it’s all so wonderful. Then my favorite track, Ineffable Mysteries… I love that singing in languages I don’t understand, then the warpy distortions - quite the trip. If you don’t break out in some sort of hippy, arm flailing dance at that point, you’re probably not human. You know, with your head moving side to side like a belly dancer. Then the outro brings you back to reality. That song is an instant classic.

It’s hard to compare it side by side with the other albums. The same words I’d use to describe the others, I’d use for this… trippy, spiritual, danceable, just something you can get lost in. Yet, it’s different. But I can’t explain the differences… you could say they are ineffable. It’s just something you have to experience for yourself.

This album is definitely worth buying. Don’t feel guilted into buying it - it stands on its own merit. I can’t wait to thumb through the booklet and also see what the Shpongle DVD has in store. Anybody who has seen the Twisted DVD will know it’s gonna be awesome. I just wish I could get the chance to see Shpongle live.

I am going to wait to listen until my copy ships.I would rather have my first listen be as the artist intended,no file compression, nothing lost.

I am a music pirate, for the most part.I buy what I can though.Discogs.com is your friend!

If it was not for pirating music,I would never have heard shpongle, but that does not stop me from buying stuff from twisted.

On a side note,Simon P.,please do not stop posting in the forums because of this nonsense.

It’s funny how this works.

In reality there are hundreds of labels out there that aren’t 1/100th as commercial or well known as Twisted Records. Yet they have the dignity not to complain publicly about their monetary situation to try and rally support. It’s too bad people are rushing to support Twisted but I’m sure they will continue to download everything else as usual. smile

Twisted Records is one of the most commercial psy labels, yet they are the only psy label to stoop to crying publicly about not selling enough CDs. Better to spend your money supporting smaller labels and emerging artists that really have money problems. Twisted already sells thousands of each CD, they will hardly notice it if you just download their music in high quality instead.

“Walking on the clouds
Reflected on the sand,
A stranger in Paradise
Entering Shpongleland.”

I just love the lyrics wink

Btw, will the booklet include the lyrics?

You know what’s funny… I’m doing my very best to get people to support Twisted, in numerous ways. And it actually seems to work a bit smile What other labels do and don’t is none of Twisted’s concern.

And yes, people will continue to download lots of music… Myself included… But I actually buy stuff that I like, and I’m trying to convince other people to do so too (not only Twisted stuff, but also Ultimae, Aleph Zero, etc).

Simon: don’t give up making music ever, please.
I’d like to listen to your music until I die. It has changed my whole life, my comprehension too.
Its absolutely brilliant what you’ve done so far. Its not just music, its a way of living. Shpongle, Younger Brother…

+100!

Simon and Twisted crew, Album is fucking amazing. I listened to it 23 times for last 4 days!!! And I am really shpongled for whole my life. I am paret of this universal sound, and I have to say, New album really grows with a flow. It is representing a beginning of New Era. Everything is changing and even a shpongle sound. Especially “Shpongolese Spoken Here”.

I Did downloaded it before release, but i still ordered 2 cd’s to have. I like real cds.

And You know what? people who listening to your music are open minded, They understand that they will never listen any new releases if they won’t buy albums from you.

Believe me, I know those people. They will buy them for sure, because Album is Fantastic And I am Doing my part of PR everywhere I can.

I keep spreading the words either. For example, last week I gave Tales Of Inexpressible to a girl friend of mine. Told her to listen to it carefully, its something new she hasn’t experienced before.
I always get to know open minded persons, so Shpongle is spreading in my territory smile.

By the way, I work out every day, and you won’t find out what I’m listening meanwhile….of course, Shpongle cool smile

Wow - what an insight into a mean-spirited mind!! Too bad that fans of a label are rushing to support the music they love? Maybe you never really got into music as much as i did, or some of the other people here… i am truly passionate about the bands i love…

To me what’s funny is that i am curious about what peculiar kind of turd would sign up to a forum of a band they didn’t like, on a label they don’t like, and start discussing an album they don’t like….  this is really the most interesting thing about you…. It’s really extraordinarily lame behaviour…  Hands up all those who have actually done this??
Okyup i can only guess you feel some kind of resentment towards us that you needs airing… maybe i have wronged you in the past?
Or maybe it’s jealousy…. because i can certainly see no other reason why a normal person with a life and things to do n stuff, would bother at all with a label they’re not interested in… I don’t get it… perhaps you can explain why you’re here, slagging us off? I know i have never felt the urge to take the time to join xxxxx’s forum and show my indifference tinged with simmering resentment to their artists…..“Hey, just thought i’d sign up to tell you that your album is boring!”. Rather like the people that write in to TV shows to complain… who does that? I guess i am getting an idea now wink  ... the TV does have an ‘Off’ switch you know - if you don’t like it just ignore it…. why don’t you use your venom to rally against a REAL injustice in the world?
Also you are clearly pissing off the fans… it’s a bit like crashing someone’s party, throwing up on the guests, calling the host’s wife a whore and refusing to leave… except that would be braver, (and certainly more entertaining!) because you wouldn’t just be cowardly hiding anonymously behind your computer….

As for “Do some more shows to make money”, I’m not going to show you the budget sheet, but the last roundhouse show is what broke the bank…. it was a one-off show, we didn’t know if we’d ever do it again, so we wanted to make it something to remember, hence we spent
