You’re sitting safely behind your computer, probably with your stained underwear around your ankles, no doubt beating off to every response provoked by your infantile antagonism.
I hadn’t been jerking off to this thread yet, but I think I just got a boner when I read your post.

Compare it to music you deem superior. Let’s hear it. What is it about, let’s see, you mentioned Ultimae..What is it about the virtuosos at Ultimae that Simon could learn from?
Here are some exemplary Ultimae tracks. Extremely detailed, complex, don’t wander around pointlessly as Shpongle tends to, long but interesting, deep, and most importantly: each using creative synths to build a unique identity and original soundscapes for itself. There are a lot of qualities here that are missing in Shpongle.
Tell me how we can donate to twisted (im a bit too lazy to go look for the button) and i will give as much money as i can. shpongle has been the best thing to ever happen in my life.
I feel most people have a misconception that an artist can make music for free. This misconception comes from established artists, Radioheads, giving away free music, because they have a few quid in the Bank and have luxuries of touring and drawing lots of tickets.
There are hundreds of CDs released on obscure, noncommercial labels and in low quantities. Good artists don’t make music to make money. Popular artists make music for money, and their music usually sucks as a result. Some artists sell their CDs for no profit just to promote and spread their music.

that doesnt mean that good artists dont need money…

Why should he? Listened to your youtube links and compared to Shpongle it’s pure SHIT. It could be good if it wasn’t compared to Shpongle.
You don’t seem to understand what we like here, the Shpongle fans, so why bother showing us the shit you listen to? As many of us have asked already WHAT’S YOUR POINT?
okyup, if your reading level could simply reach the 3rd grade, you’d recall our friend Simon has been losing money and is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. You might also recall him deliberately hosting shows at a loss for the fans…
Oh, and okyup, Shpongle doesn’t wander pointlessly. You should realize this for what it is - poor taste on your part.
I love Ultimae releases as well and I’m not going to say Ultimae > Twisted or vice versa…
I think Simon could make music much like this if he tried, but instead he plays with flutes and distorted vocals.
Some of us like that. We all have different taste, some better than others . For example, Carbon Based Lifeforms is just flat out BORING. You say it goes places… but it sure doesn’t take me along. It’s simple and lame. Maybe, if they added some distorted vocals and flutes they might not put me to sleep. And I’m a huge fan of downtempo, but they just suck… The difference is, I don’t like CBL so I don’t bother. You should take a note. If you haven’t liked anything from Twisted since 1995… why the hell do you bother? You’re a very skilled troll, but seriously, check that shit at the front door. Leave it at the sites where it’s part of the fun, because bringing it here is simply being an asshole. Having a negative opinion is one thing, but making 30 posts just derailing a topic for your own amusement… that is much different.
This thread is about the new Shpongle album and let’s please get back to that. I’m being a bit of a hypocrite, but please guys… just stop acknowledging this guy. Let’s get back to reviewing the album and discussing the leak and perhaps even downloading in general. One troll is not worth so many pages. He’ll keep responding if you keep responding to him. Just ignore it.

Don’t get me wrong, I like ultimae, I listen to a lot of their music.
But…..
It’s all the same, its plain, and especially, it’s boring. It’s nice to have playing in the background when I’m just chillin, but when i want to listen to music, like headphones on and doing nothing other then just focusing on the sounds, its just too lifeless.
For me Shpongle is the sum-total of all I can say I love about music, so naturally I’m ready to castrate anyone who says otherwise. The sounds are always fresh, the patterns distinct, the blending of sounds is like no other music I have ever heard before, no song is ‘flat’ for its whole duration, there are always style shifts and nothing drags on too long. Oh, and best of all, the hidden sounds. I have listened to the 3 albums more times then I can count, and still 3 years on, I still now and then pick up a faint little bleep or bloop in the background, sounds that were crafted beautifully yet only appear a few times far off in the background on a single track.
I don’t even consider Shpongle music, it’s an experience.
I try to not offend artists by insulting work that is personal to them (while being much more honest for that matter): I don’t say someone’s music “sucks,” I just say it hasn’t really clicked with me.
Right now I’m rocking in my chair listening to Shpongolese spoken here….can’t stop moving my body to the beat…those youtube music clips made me sleepy and bored. Oh and look now the song changed and its something DIFFERENT than it was a couple seconds ago as opposed to 8+ minutes of pure ambient BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
I love chillout but so much of the genre is stale and repetitive.
Alright, I’ve thoroughly exhausted myself attempting to understand where okyup is coming from and I’m going to do what I should have done pages and pages ago when Simon suggested it: ignore button.
how about we come up with some ideas to help the twisted guys. the power of the human mind is that it is so diverse, and everyone has opinions. this also means that people can have ideas that differ from one person to another. how about we help them come up with some ideas they might not have thought of to help sell their music.
it’s a tough industry, and nothing beats the power of a community that has a strong belief in something, in this case the music of Twisted
